BM522: Project Management Plan for TfL's G&S Society Event

This report presents a comprehensive project management plan for Transport for London (TfL), focusing on the staging of an operetta to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the G&S Society and unveil TfL's strategic direction. It includes a justification of the project, a critical analysis of the scrum methodology, a network diagram, a Gantt chart, and a stakeholder analysis. The report also covers a work breakdown structure, an organizational structure, a risk analysis identifying 20 potential risks and their solutions, and quality expectations, specifications, acceptance criteria, and control measures. The project aims to create safer, greener streets and improve the bus network, with funding from TfL and the University’s Student Council.

INTRODUCTION
Project management is considered as a major approach which develop an effective
approach in order to manage and complete a project (Bergmann, and Karwowski, 2018). It is
also one of the key role of a project leader to manage project with the help of strategic and
planning framework for the achievement of desired results. It is major role and responsibility of a
project leader to cover all major dimensions of a project development in order to develop best
business practices. In this report project management related to Transport for London is taken
into consideration for the development of green and safe transportation management. The project
includes celebration of 40th anniversary of G&S society in order to unveil strategic direction for
TFL The project management related to Transport for London project will invite playwright
William Gilbert and the famous composer Arthur Sullivan. In this report, there is a brief analysis
of methodology related to a project along with development of network diagram. In this report
Gantt chart is also developed in order to develop timeline for the project.

TASK 1
Justification of the project and critical analysis of methodology that would be appropriate for the
project as well as reason
The project named Transport for London is a major activity which will be developed as
the celebration of 40th G&S society's anniversary. In this project creating development of Land
along Bollo Lance for around 800 new homes in action.
In the development of a project, project methodology is considered as major guidelines
and methods in order to finish and develop a project. In the project of Transportation of London,
the methodology which is selected by project leader is scrum methodology which will help in
completing the project in a precise manner (Carvalho, and Rabechini Jr, 2017). With the
application of scrum methodology, The Transport for London project will be able to encourage
participation of stakeholders. This approach will be also beneficial in increasing transparency for
ensuring project management in a systematic manner. The main benefits of applying scrum
methodology is increase in customer satisfaction, developing team spirit and well defined project
exposure. In the recent times, scrum methodology also helps a project to provide well managed
scope and it will require team members who are experienced.
TASK 2
i. Developing network diagram
The network diagram is a major graphical approach which helps a project to develop
essential elements. The network diagram also helps a project by developing different parts of
project and their relationship with each other (Harrison, and Lock, 2017). The Transportation for
London will take the help and assistance of network diagram in order to complete the project on
timeline. Also network diagram helps in developing sequence for a project in order to lead the
development based approaches. Network diagram in context of TFL project and its figure is

The Transportation for London project's network diagram, which is mentioned above
depicts critical path which is known as a major technique to develop activities of project. The
schedule of whole project should be developed according to flexibility in order to develop
project in a precise manner. The set time duration for project will be helpful in developing
activities accordingly. In the above mentioned diagram blue and orange arrows are used to
develop project dimensions(Figure 1). The Figure 2 on the other hand shows a critical path
which states shortest time to complete the project. The shortest time in order to complete all
activities of project for Transportation for London is 16 weeks, 116 days and 4 days. The shortest
time recorded is 1→2→4→5→9→10→21→22.
ii. Representing activity list of the project in Gantt Chart
It is very much essential in a project management to focus on development of a Gantt
chart in order to divide activities on the basis of time. The scheduling with the help of Gantt
chart for TFL project is mentioned below:

Undertaking stakeholder analysis for project
The analysis of stakeholders is essential for a project in order to satisfy the wants and
needs of different interest holders. In the development of a project, it is essential for a project
leader to conduct a major stakeholder analysis (Kasemsap, 2018) The Transportation for London
project's stakeholder analysis is mentioned below:

 High power, high interest- In the project Transportation for London, the project site
managers and sponsor of project will be major internal stakeholders. They will have the
duty to perform all administration based activities of the project. In this approach, there
will be usage of non-verbal communication strategy which will include communication
on the basis of gestures and eye contact.
 High power, low interest- The media of nation and board of governance for construction
will be the major external stakeholders, who will have low interest and high power. The
communication will happen on the basis of information and technology including e-mails
and internet.
 Low power, High interest- In the TFL project, various agencies that are recruiters and
workers will be internal stakeholders. The communication will be created by using verbal
communication in order to develop effective measures.
 Low power, low interest- Community members will be the external stakeholders that
will have low interest and power (Kerzner, 2018). The communication will be performed
through the use of internet and social media websites.

Work breakdown structure and organisational structure for the event
The work breakdown structure is a major approach in project management which
includes tools which are helpful in bifurcating activities of the project into smaller parts. This
approach will be helpful in increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the project (Kerzner,
2019). The Transportation for London project will have the following work break down
structure:
The organisational structure which will be followed in this project will be functional
structure. This structure will be helpful in allocating different roles and responsibilities to the
employees and workers who are involved in the project (Koke, and Moehler, 2019). All major
projects follow the functional structure in order to achieve desired results in a set period of time.
The functional structure in Transportation for London project will be a major tool to perform
roles and duties in a major and systematic way.

Preparing risk analysis for 20 various risks that could affect project
The risk analysis is considered as a major approach which is helpful in identification of
risk. After the identification of risk, project leader of Transportation for London will develop
various and effective ways to resolve different types of risks associated with operations
(Martinsuo, and Geraldi, 2020). The risk analysis and its solutions for TFL project are
mentioned below:
