A.1 Analysis of visitors of the theme park
The paper mainly reflects on “Lightning Fast” which is a theme park. It is found that the
board of directors of the company are very much concerned about the decline of the theme park
and therefore the company hired the services of project management. This is done for
undertaking detailed analysis about the present business activities as well as about different types
of software systems which are further enabled for overcoming different types of difficulties for
restoring the confidence of the project key stakeholders. Proper analysis of the visitors within the
theme park has generally revealed that 90% are UK based whereas 10% of the visitors are
tourist. It is found that the boards of the park have decided to either build a hotel complex or
wants to add a new ride for making the park much more attractive for the tourists (Wu, Li and Li
2018). After analysis, it is found that construction of hotel complex within theme park is
considered as one of the major reasons of attractiveness for the tourists as they do not need to
find a lodge or hotel in order to stay as they can easily get hotel complex within the park.
Additionally, the tourist does not need to spend much time in finding better lodging place near
the park but they will get proper ambience with good food which can be one of the major reasons
for attracting tourists.
A.2 Justification of the project
It is found that in order to increase attractiveness and for earning profit, the project team
wants to build a hotel complex within the park and additionally they also want to increase the
number of rides in the park. It is found that as the hotels are considered as one of the key
components in the leading theme park complexes. Immersion of guests within outlandish helps
in allowing them for continuing experience of escapism that is found within the park after the

park gates are closed (Aman 2019). It not only helps in boosting revenue but also helps in
increasing profit as for example when the visitors visit the park for two days and stays in the
hotel for 1 night then they buy much more merchandise as well as food from the hotel and thus
the theme park does much more business that helps in increasing profit. Additionally, inclusion
of a new ride makes the park much more exotic and it further helps in making the hotel stand out
from mundane. It will further attract youngsters and children which act as one of the alternative
sources of business for the organization (Fotiadis and Kozak 2017).
A.3 Selection of one project
The project management team analyses the idea of both the project and came with the
conclusion of implementing a hotel complex within the theme park. The project team informed
the board of directors to implement a hotel complex with immediate effect as the development of
hotel not only increases the tourist attraction but it also helps in increasing the profitability of
Lightning Fast. This can give tough competition to other theme parks of that area by luring the
travellers as well as tourist (Steptoe et al. 2018). Presence of hotel complex will be helpful in
providing proper hospitality service including high quality of food. In addition to this, it provides
proper opportunity of experiencing an expensive hotel at an affordable price. For example, if the
tourists came for 3 days in the theme park then they will stay in the hotel complex which is
situated in the park and as a result the organization will do extra business as the tourists will buy
high margin merchandise as well as food and beverages. It is analyzed that around 25% of
revenue of the organization will increase after the development of hotel within the theme park.
Therefore, it is necessary for the board of directors to develop the hotel within the theme park
immediately.

A.4 Estimation of requirement breakdown structure for the selected project
A requirement breakdown structure is one of the hierarchical tree shaped description for
different types of project requirements that is mainly present in the end product for delivering the
expected business-related value (Sen et al. 2017). The requirement breakdown structure for the
construction of hotel complex within the theme park is mainly reflected in the below diagram.

generally needs different types of management approaches. However, these types of approaches

Traditional project: For these projects, both the project goal as well as solutions are
properly known as well as completed at the outset effectively.
Agile project: For this type of project, the project goal is properly known as well as
defined but the way in which it can be achieved must be properly known.
Extreme project: For these types of project, neither the goal nor the solution is properly
known at the outset (Cerami et al. 2017).
Emertxe project: For these types of project, a solution to the raised problem exists at the
outset but the goal to which it can aligned is not properly defined.
The hotel complex development project that is mainly undertaken has clear goals as well
as solutions which generally needs to be completed at the outset. It is found that both the WBS as
well as project schedule can be effectively developed for managing the project quite effectively.

A.6 Explanation of how the project will be helpful in restoring confidence of key
stakeholders
The project of hotel complex development will be helpful in properly restoring
confidence within the project stakeholders as with the help of hotel complex development in
lightning Fast theme park, there is some hope of gaining profitability that will further boost the
business of the organization. This further helps in creating confidence within both the external
and internal stakeholders of the organization as the organization can be able to overcome the
difficulties that they are facing due to the decline of the company. The business case of hotel
complex development act as one of the positive solutions for the theme park as it not only helps
in attracting a greater number of tourists but it also helps in increasing revenue as well as
profitability of the organization.

PESTLE
Political factor: It is considered as one of the intellectual properties that helps in creating a
number of growth-related opportunities. It is found that the shift of the trade policies is
considered as a factor that threatens that instability of theme park business environment.
Economic factors: The PESTLE framework asses the economic trends that helps in shaping
the theme park. This further helps in rapid economic development as well as enhancing levels
of disposable incomes (Song, Sun and Jin 2017).
Social factors: It mainly focuses on different types of social trends that generally affect the
theme park due to customers as well as behaviours of the workers. The company experiences
the effects the sociocultural external factors including increasing online activity as well as

Technological factor: It is found that different types of technologies are used within the
entertainment as well as mass media production that are mainly utilized for developing the
theme park.

Bargaining power of customers: The bargaining power of the customers is low due to low
switching costs as it made quite easy for the customers to switch or transfer from one provider
to another provider.

factors have high supply that further prevents suppliers from affecting the corporation of

Threat to substitutes: It is found that substitution generally imposes pressure on the firm in
context to pricing, revenue, market share as well as to different types of other factors (Steptoe
et al. 2018). The threat to substitutes is faced by Lightning Fast park due to moderate

Threats to new entrants: The park needs to use strategies like low switching cost in order to
avoid the entrance of new entrants within the business.

 Core PM Functionality: This open source software generally includes different types pf
features including Gantt charts, WBS, resource breakdown structure as well as resource
histogram (Meredith et al. 2017).
 MS project compatibility: ProjectLibre is generally compatible such that it can properly
export and import capabilities effectively. It helps in creating project plan by using a
proper approach for setting durations as well as for managing expenses.
Limitations
ProjectLibre generally take much more time in loading when the project size is quite
larger such that the user interface looks quite old.

MS project: It is one of the software that is mainly designed for assisting the project
managers in properly developing plans as well as for assigning resources and tracking the project
progress. It further helps in creating proper critical path schedule. Each of the task work is
assigned to resources for achieving enterprise resource pool (Kerzner 2019).

Jira: It is one of the popular MS project software that helps in catering agile software
development team. By utilizing this particular software, the team can be able to create proper
customisable Kanban boards, scrum boards and generally utilizes agile reporting. Furthermore,
Jira generally comes with proper set of APIs’ for enabling the user to connect to the third-party
software.
B.4 Recommendations to the board of directors
The board of directors must utilize MS project in place of Project Libre. This is because
it generally integrates with the MS project for supporting the users. It is also used for financial
management such that the software can be utilized by the managers in order to assign resources
and estimate the cost of the project (Marchewka 2016). In addition to this, the entire project can
be effectively planned and can be visualized with the help of MS project. Additionally, MS
project helps in sharing files with other members of the project that further helps in ensuring that
all the members have relevant documentation such that they can work effectively with minimum
interruptions.
B.5 Conclusion
It can be concluded from the entire paper that development of hotel complex within the
Lightning fast theme park will be helpful in increasing attractiveness of the tourist as they will
get proper facility of hospitality. It helps in increasing the revenue as well as profitability of the
organization. The paper analyzes the hotel complex development with the help of project
landscape. Additionally, PESTEL, SWOT and porter 5 forces are used for analyzing the project.
Moreover, the paper identifies MS project as an alternative software to project Libre.
