should ensure that the risk is controlled and reduced in the project. A project manager should
have some traits so that the project management is effective. The traits of the project manager
include:
Effective communication skills: the manager of the project should have good skills of
communication in order to connect with people at all the levels (Henkel, Marion and
Bourdeau 2019)
Strong leadership skills: The project manager must have leadership skills in order to
motivate the team and make them give their maximum hard work for the project.
Good decision maker: the project manager should have good skills of making decisions in
order to make the project effective.
Team building skills: the project manager must have proper skills of team building and he
should know the way to give importance to the project manager and provide them
motivation by telling them to focus on their positive traits (Kawesittisankhun and
Pongpeng 2019).
Cool under pressure: during the management of the project, a situation can come across
where the project manager needs to take quick decisions. In this situation, the project
manager must handle the situation coolly and take the decisions properly
Good negotiation skills: one of the qualities those are required for the management of
project is the capability to negotiate. The project manager requires skills of negotiation in

order to settle the issues and maintain proper harmony in the team (Herrera, Calahorra

Empathetic: understanding and caring for the team members are very important for the
project manager. It is one of the most important skills of the manager of the project
(Afshari and Kowal 2017). It consists of understanding the requirements of the projects
and the requirements of the stakeholders
Competence: A good manager of project knows the job that he is doing and he can initiate
new projects and as well as face the challenge. It is important for a manager of the project
to have most of the attributes for the manager of the project to succeed in order to manage
the project.
Technical expertise: Since the softwares of management of project are important to
accomplish goals of a project, a manager of project must have technical knowledge in
order to understand the issues those are related to technical aspect.
Inspires a vision that is shared: A manager of the project can clear the vision to the
members of the team (Afshari and Kowal 2018). A person that is visionary can lead the
team members to the direction those are right as well as very easily adapt to the various
changes that come in the way of the project manager.
Problem solving skills: A manager of the project must have skills of problem solving so
that he can solve the problems that come across during the management of the project
(Henkel et al 2019). The manager of project for the successfulness of a project should do
it properly.
