Introduction
In the case study of CHD, the project has been using information system for tracking the
data effectively. The major problem faced by the project is that the information could not be
expanded in upcoming projects [1]. A communication plan has been implemented by CHD for
overcoming this problem. In this report evaluation of the communication plan would be carried
out and a better plan would be recommended for improving the plan.
Discussion
Present Communication plan of the Project
The CHD has been developing a disease database that would help the professionals to
identify the disease quickly. It would also suggest a process to cure the disease effectively. In
this particular paper we would see that the stakeholders are divided into 2 parts, they are senior
management, clients, and employees, members of the project, sub contractors, unions, sponsors,
suppliers, and community and government agencies [1]. In this particular project, the
stakeholders are connected to each other with a particular communication plan. The
communication plan includes various terminologies that are followed by managing committee.
The reports would help in understanding the process as well as the terminologies that are used.
The communication plan takes care of the fact that, stakeholders should be informed regarding
every detail of the project and its whereabouts [2]. The subcontractors and suppliers are not very
important in this project. These stakeholders look after the benefits that are enjoyed as a result
they are not considered as much important. The other stakeholders such as senior management,
team members of the project, sponsor as well as the employees would be communicated in the

same manner. In this case, the method of communication is very realistic to succeed the project.
This particular technique would provide every details of project that would meet the
requirements of the stakeholders. In this project, numerous media of communication are used in
order to stay in contact with the stakeholders [3]. The communication plan ensures that any
stakeholder should not miss any piece of communication. A high detailed and formal
communication would help in making the communication plan even more efficient.
Current communication plan compared to Sound project management practices.
The current communication plan is very different compared to sound project management
practices. Sound project management practices consist of various steps and these steps are
supposed to be performed in a proper manner [4]. The present communication plan is very
different from sound project management practices. These features are as follows
Defined life cycle and milestone: Project manager of a particular project is
supposed to define and map the phases, deliverables, key milestones for each and
every group that are involved in that particular project [4]. There are four phases
that are needed to be considered are plan, concept, implementation and closure of
that project. The present plan of communication does follow these features.
Organizing project: a sound project management plan is supposed to launch the
project after it performs a detailed analysis on present stakeholders involved in the
project [4]. It also defines the organization project to the stakeholders. Some vital
features of project organization are core team, sponsorship on the projects and
understanding the basic stakeholders. These features are not included in present
communication plan.

5PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Managing project change: A project works effectively only when it has plan that
would be followed while performing the activities. Not always the project works
out according to the plan [4]. The project manager should maintain a balance
between control as well as discipline for maintaining the plan that has been
decided by the project. He also looks after the flexibility of the project. Customers
always tend to extract more and more out of the project. They have certain
expectations that are to be met by the project. The project has to be free of any
defects in order to meet the expectations and demands of the stakeholders as well
as customers. Some vital points which should be considered in the current
communication plan are defining change according to the project; understand
various sources as well as signs that are provided before any change [5]. At last a
process has to be established for managing the changes as well as measure
impacts of those changes.
Managing the performance of project: The major area that must be noted is
keeping a track of the performance of project and identification of problems that
are encountered while working on the project. For implementing proper activities
all the team members should collaborate in the action [6]. The performance of the
project can be measured by performing some activities like budget, performance
of the suppliers, schedule and many more.

Recommendations
In the case study of this project the stakeholders such as unions and government agencies
require certain changes in the communication plan [7]. Some recommendations that can be
followed to make the communication plan more efficient are as follows
Government being a major stakeholder should be informed about the detailed
updates regarding the project [7]. Any changes in the plan of the project should be
informed to the government.
Unions that have collaborated with this particular project should be provided with
information that would be helpful for them.
The estimated budget of the project should be communicated to the government
because in some cases the government provides funds in the project.
The performance and progress of the project should be conveyed to the
government and unions.
A strategic framework should be decided which would make it easy for the
project manager to communicate with various stakeholders like suppliers.
The recommendations mentioned above have to be followed in order to maintain the
progress and efficiency of the project. They would also help the project to create a very effective
communication plan [8]. Not all the members of project require detailed information but
government agencies should be provided with complete data regarding the project. Union should
collaborate as well as commit in order to complete the project successfully. Updates regarding
the progress of project should be provided to the government agencies in order to ensure that
there are no changes to be made and it can be preceded [8]. Government agencies might require

communicating with some stakeholders like technology provider, suppliers of material. They

are very important for the execution of project. Management of stakeholders is very important
for a project. A comparison between present communication plan and a good project
management practices are discussed above. Few recommendations have been provided in order
