Project
AI Summary
This project solution advocates for palliative care as a superior approach to traditional methods for terminally ill patients, emphasizing its focus on patient desires, family support, and improved quality of life. It highlights the cost-effectiveness and ease of implementation of palliative care, especially with trained caregivers and strong collaboration between patients, families, and caregivers. The project underscores the importance of cultural sensitivity and effective communication in palliative care, aligning patient needs with community and healthcare system cultures. The research aims to demonstrate the advantages of palliative care, its impact on patient well-being, and actionable plans for healthcare organizations to adopt this strategy, addressing factors crucial for successful implementation. Challenges such as resource limitations, potential data bias, and privacy concerns are acknowledged, with the expectation that the research will enhance patient-centered care, improve treatment efficiency, and tailor hospital care to better meet patient needs.

The most feasible solution, in this case, is palliative care. Research shows that palliative
care is more effective as it is advanced and offers better results than the traditional methods.
There are various benefits associated with palliative care (Davis, Temel, Balboni & Glare,
2015). First, palliative care prioritizes desires, decisions, and goals of the terminally ill patients
hence necessitating effective care. Secondly, palliative care provides the necessary support to the
patient and his family. Family and patient support has been known to boost the level of
satisfaction and outcomes among the terminally ill patients. According to research conducted by
the American Nursing Association, palliative care improves the life quality of a patient.
Additionally, palliative care helps the families and patients to understand the available plans of
treatment and their effects. Moreover, palliative care lessens avoidable visits to the hospitals.
Palliative care is also devoted towards effective treatment of terminally ill as it focuses on the
spirit, mind and the body of the patients. Evidence also has it that palliative care offers pain and
control of all symptoms. The truth is that palliative care is a multi-dimensional approach to the
terminally ill as it provides the necessary treatment and care (Kelley & Morrison, 2015).
The truth is that palliative care is not a costly method. As a matter of fact, palliative care
is more cost friendly than the traditional approaches to treatment. According to the American
Cancer Association, the palliative care approach to the terminally ill yields substantial benefits
(Lam, Lam, Choi, Lee, Yuen, & Leung, 2018). Palliative care is easy to implement especially if
the caregivers have been trained in the effective methodologies and approaches. Palliative care
intervention is realistic and easily achievable if there is a sound collaboration between the
patients, their families, and the caregivers.

Culture is a paramount aspect it comes to effectiveness in the care offered to the patients.
Palliative care embraces the aspect of medical ethics and the patient’s wishes on the type of care
to be provided (Evans, Roberts, Keeley, Blossom, Amaro, Garcia, & Reed 2015). Palliative care
involves a consultation team which is multidisciplinary in nature as it works with the patient’s
family, the patient individually and doctors providing social, medical, emotional as well as
realistic support. Palliative care observes the culture of effective communication which is crucial
in the day-to-day running of any agency (Triplett, LeBrett, Bryant, Bruggeman, Matsuno,
Lindsay & Murphy, 2017). The patients and doctors openly communicate with one another on
the care to be provided and the ways it will affect the patient. The partnership is also prioritized
when it comes to palliative care. It is worthwhile noting that for the terminally ill to be content
with the care they receive, there should be a close link between their culture and the hospital
culture. It is evident that palliative care focuses on the needs of all patients and links them to the
culture of the community as well as that of the whole healthcare system.
There are various outcomes associated with this project. First, the research will outline
the benefits associated with palliative care as opposed to the traditional models of care.
Secondly, the project will make it clear whether palliative care improves the quality of life of the
patient. Third, the project will come with the possible action plans to effectively address the
advantages of end-of-life care and why the caregivers should adopt this strategy in treatment.
Fourth, the project will determine the factors that are feasible for effective implementation of
palliative care in all healthcare organizations ((Triplett, LeBrett, Bryant, Bruggeman, Matsuno,
Lindsay & Murphy, 2017).
There are various methods that can be applied in achieving the desired outcomes in this
project. First, the validity of the research needs to be prioritized. The research will apply chi-

square and t-tests in establishing the relationship of the variables in the research. Additionally,
the research will apply SPSS to explore the variables present in this study. In case there is a
relationship between the variables, the solution will be said to be relevant and sufficient. The
research will also apply published articles as well as case studies and field research (Kirkpatrick,
Cantrell & Smeltzer, 2017).
. The challenges associated with this research are resources, the possibility of bias in data
due to the nature of the study, inadequate personnel, and lack of cooperation from the
respondents due to privacy issues, and issues in reliability and validity of the data.
There are various impacts associated with the research. In terms of quality care, the
research is expected to improve this as there will be more focus on the needs and preferences of
the patients. The level of patient-centered is deemed to improve as the doctors will cooperate
with the patients and their families to provide the best care. The efficiency patients’ treatment
process is also likely to improve as the communication between the doctors and the patients will
improve hence leading to quality care. The treatment and the care quality in the hospitals are
tailored to improve greatly with the introduction of palliative care in the hospital (Kirkpatrick,
Cantrell & Smeltzer, 2017).
