INTRODUCTION
Project management is considered as the area in which different steps are considered
which involves initiating, planning, executing, controlling and monitoring the work of a team in
regard to achieve specific task so that success could be met. However, it is essential for project
manager of any business to carry out effective planning in relation to accomplish the project in
an effective manner. Here, the present project focuses upon development of web application for
the proposed social media centre (Kerzner, 2013). Thus, the assigned project manager need to be
involve an internet website and section for members on the intranet. However, the feasibility
study and financial analysis has been carried out in regard to confirm that project should be
carried out as per the plan. Present project plan also undertakes effective tools such as project
charter, work breakdown structure, Gantt Chart, Network diagram. Further, a time phased budget
has been created which helps help in identifying the supply rates for workers and then use all
such assumptions in regard to create the budget. Also, a risk register has been created which
involves both positive and negative risk so that appropriate project plan could be prepared. Later,
a short statement is being carried out which reflects team philosophy or objectives for ensuring
that business need to deliver a quality system to client.

Background- Here, the need for developing web application for social media research centre so
that proper decision could be met in regard to commence the project. Also, it is considered as the
larger project and carried out feasibility study and financial analysis in regard to confirm that
project need to go ahead and accomplish the project. Further, the developed website would
involve information regarding major research projects, list of supervisor’s etc. so that it could be
updated within the project details (Leach, 2014).
Goals- Project manager requires focusing upon developing higher quality research and
commence new research centre in February 2018. Firstly, an informal research group will be
established till June 2017 and then the project would be carried out in regard to set an associated

business centre that researches in a closely related area. Also, proper analysis need to be carried
out in regard to analyse the current trends in research within the area of information technology
and then make decision regarding developing web application for the proposed social media
centre (Heagney, 2016).
Scope- It can be evaluated that the current project possess effective scope in regard to develop
the technology and thus prepare web application so that it could help both local community and
businesses. Thus, developing such type of web application assists entrepreneurs to carry out
effective social media networks (Braglia and Frosolini, 2014). However, project manager aims to
execute the plan and thus prepare effective web application so that experts could use proper
application, network and database software and hardware in regard to support the developed
project.

Work breakdown structure (WBS) is considered as the project management tool that
helps in analysing the deliverable oriented breakdown of project within smaller components.
However, it is also a key project deliverable and thus focuses upon organizing the team's work
within different manageable parts. Here, the developed structure and diagram represents that the
project manager i.e. Bruce to identify the different activities within small components which
helps in accomplishing all the assigned activities so that project could be completed in an
effective way (Barabino and et. al., 2015). However, here WBS has been prepared in terms of
establishing the research centre for developing web application for social media centre and thus
for that project manager requires going through an appropriate manner so that desired results

GANTT CHART
It is being prepared that helps in providing all the activities in the form of horizontal as
well as clear manner so that project manager is being involved within the project to accomplish
the task. Also, Gantt Chart is being considered as an crucial tool within project management and
thus it helps in supporting the project manager for developing effective plan as well as executing
the network diagram so that time duration could be identified for completing the project.
However, through determining the time duration for completing the project, it helps in
identifying the critical path and thus use the assigned activities so that developed plan could be
prepared in regard to achieve the objectives (Schwalbe, 2015). Further, Gantt Chart and network
diagram helps project manager to identify the proper and best path that needs to be considered
for accomplishing the project. Following is the network diagram prepared with critical path-

information about the different activities which is being prepared in regard to carry out the
project and helps firm to develop web application for creating social media research centre. Here,
the project manager, Bruce aims to start third and second activities simultaneously along with
fourth and fifth activities (Annarelli, Battistella and Nonino, 2017). Further, it is essential for
project manager to ignore second and fourth activities or third and fifth activity which will
minimize the overall time duration for completion of project. However, it helps in minimizing
the cost in a positive way and thus prepare Gantt Chart, Network Diagram and Critical Path.

second critical path is being selected that helps in developing web application for social media in

the whole project within minimum time duration.
TIME PHASED BUDGET
Budget plays crucial role for financial managers wherein decisions related to financial
aspects are being taken and at the same time, budget also helps in brining estimate about the
resources that needs to be allocated in each and every activity. Thus, in this respect it can be said
that the accounts and finance manager is required to show everything in statement and all the
activities should be completed according to the time table specified. Thus, the entire process is
called as time phased budget wherein all the activities are determined according to the given time
scale (Palacios-Marqués, Cortés-Grao and Carral, 2013). Since, Bruce is the project manager of
the existing project; hence it is crucial for him to emphasize on the budget requirements so that
aim of the project can be met. Hence, Bruce has to develop the web application within the period
of 8 months and he has the budget of around 50,000 Australian Dollars. Therefore, according to
costing and time phased budget, Bruce has to carry out all the activities accordingly and the

Thus, according to the entire time phased budget, it can be said that within the period of 8
months, the entire project plan will be completed and website will be hopefully developed. The
total cost that will be required is 50000 Australian Dollars; hence Bruce will have to ensure that
proper allocation of resources is being made. At every stage, Bruce has to ensure that he is
allocating resources in suitable manner as then only value of the project will be amended
(Schoech and Bolton, 2015). At the initial stage of planning, it is crucial for Bruce to plan each

and every aspect so that all the activities can be carried out efficiently and that needs to be
performed within the period of 1 month in 5000 AUD. Afterwards, Bruce has to involve diverse
parties in planning phase so that each and every one can contribute in developing the web.
Collection of data is an essential aspect of every project; henceforth in this respect Bruce
has to ensure that only feasible and accurate sources are being included in the process. Bruce has
to allocate 5000 AUD for this process. Website developing phase is also crucial in this facet in
which Bruce has to invest much resources as this holds major importance in the project process.
Afterwards, Bruce is also required to focus on implementing the project within the expected
budget/ cost (Soyemi and Isinkaye, 2017). Therefore, in this respect it can be said that including
all such stages of web development, Bruce has to develop the website in successful manner.

However, while preparing for overall plan for project it helps in considering and

results could be attained. Through considering the case, Bruce, project manager is going to
develop new research centre using web application. Thus, different types of risks occur that

While, preparing project plan, it helps in managing and improving the quality of project
and thus Bruce, project manager in regard to attain desired objectives so that success could be
achieved. In regard to manage and control the quality manageable plan which helps in adopting
effective techniques so that quality of project could be maintained and controlled. All the
identified quality manageable technique need to be useful for Bruce and thus helps in enhancing
the quality of project. In the present case, quality management techniques need to be developed
in an effective way for accomplishing the current project (Mir and Pinnington, 2014).
Quality management approach- It is considered as an effective tool that helps project manager
i.e. Bruce to undertake different types of quality management aspects and thus rely upon the

Wright and Bruce could effectively evaluate the development of project and thus enhance the
satisfaction level. However, in such stage, both the assigned project persons helps in checking

project closure and evaluate the quality management tools so that appropriate results could be
attained. However, evaluating the outcomes, managers of project need to assess the problem and
thus identify the objectives so that fruitful objectives could be identified in regard to undertake
effective actions so that best results could be attained.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the study that developing project plan helps in identifying the
web application for social media so that project could be accomplished in an effective and

so that appropriate outcomes could be attained. However, it is essential for project manager to
undertake the critical path which has low time duration so that desired results could be attained.
