Project Quality:
The quality of a project can be defined as the service or product which is currently having
the capability of performing in a satisfactory manner within the organizational context. This type
of products or the services must be suitable for the intended purpose. Thus, it can be concluded
that quality of the project is preserved. In such of the cases where the developed product is great
but it does not fit the intended purposes then it can be said that project has failed to meet the
quality objectives.
Tools and Techniques:
In the context of project management it is crucial to plan the quality management of the
initiated project for a positive outcome. Some techniques can be used for the planning purposes
which are flow charts, control charts, cause and effect diagram, pareto charts and histogram. The
important tools are the risk register of the project, stakeholder register and project scope baseline.
Project Cost affected by Poor Quality:
The cost of the project can be heavily affected by the quality maintained throughout the
project. If the project quality is poor then it is natural that the cost of the project is going to be
increased. One of the prior example here is the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. In this case the
project failed to maintain its overall quality throughout the project and due to this reason the
project got delayed. As the project was delayed there was a huge amount of increment in the
budget of the project. Thus, cost for the project affected negatively.
