INTRODUCTION
Covid-19 has adversely impact on the working process, operations and
performance of retail companies and dealing with such issues is vital in order
to remain at marketplace. The report will cover summary of project proposal
along with Gantt chart. In addition to this, there is a discussion about tools and
techniques used for evaluating project in a proper manner.
Research aim: “To analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the performance and
productivity of retail industry”. A study on Asda
Tools and techniques for evaluating projects
Data collection: It is defined as the process which is used by researcher to
collect effective and valuable information associated to the topic. In
addition to this, it help researcher to better understand the topic and develop
valid conclusion. There are mainly two different forms of data collection
that is primary and secondary sources. Primary data is also known as first-
hand information which is directly collected from source.
Research instrument: It is defined as the methods and tools which is
applied by investigator to gathered data. The present study will be based on
primary information and to gather it there are different sources that is
survey, interview, focus group and so on. It is vital for investigator to
ensure that appropriate method is used to collect and analyse data as it has
direct impact on the overall results of study.
Research Objectives:
To analyse the issues faced by Asda due to Covid-19.
To determine the influence of COVID-19 on the performance and
productivity of Asda.
To examine the strategies adopted by Asda to deal with the situation of
COVID-19.
Summarise information of project proposal
It is summarised from the project one that COVID-19 has affected on the
performance and productivity of organisation and arise various issues such as
decline of performance level, ineffective execution of activities, lack of virtual
retail executions and solutions, increase demand of multi-channel buying,
supply chain disruption and so on. All these has affected on the performance
and also decline the productivity of employees. It is important for companies
such as Asda to develop and implement effective strategies for dealing with
situation of Covid-19 that is shifting towards digital in an economic way,
ensure health and safety of employees, providing training and development
session, remote workforces and automation, ensure employee satisfaction and
so on.
Gantt chart
It is defined as bar chart which illustrates the overall activities related to
specific project against the time. Along with this, it includes the starting and
ending time of each activity due to which research is implemented and
completed in a timely manner. The Gantt chart of present study is given

From the above discussion, it has been concluded that COVID-19 has
impact on their performance and activities of retail organisations and to
deal with these companies are shifted towards digital and focus on
customer satisfaction as well. It is determined that it is significant for
researcher to make use of appropriate tools, methods and techniques in
order to evaluate project as it assist to draw valid and reliable conclusion.
