INTRODUCTION
The projects are made by the companies so as to outline the blueprint of various tasks and
activities that will be undertaken for accomplishing the project. As per this, the project report
makes an attempt to breakdown a number of activities into small units that are allocated to
different persons as per their skills and efficiency (Lushey and Munro, 2015). The present report
has focussed on a plan of installing a new MIS software in the restaurant according to which a
project plan has been formulated. The report will discuss about the risks that can be faced under
the project.
TASK 1
Phases of project life cycle
The life cycle of a project goes on through certain phases according to which there are
several steps that has to be included stepwise. These phases of a project are as follows:
Initiation: The initiation phase of a project is related with the starting up of plan. As per this, the
major objective of the project plan is identified and a feasibility study is undertaken. This study
helps in analysing that each activity and task is aligned with pre determined objective of the
project. After this study, if approval is made, project manager is appointed (Kerzner, 2013). The
major objective in present plan is to install a new MIS software for the Green computing
company. As per this, feasible study has been done to confirm about required resources, funds
etc. thus, an approval has been attained from senior officials and project manager has been
appointed.
Planning phase: At this phase, the project manager will plan the whole project. Therefore, a
sketch will be made the will outline different tasks, persons who will be executing it,
dependencies and time schedules for each activity.
Costing: The planning process includes the determination of funds that will be required
for accomplishing the project.
Scheduling: The scheduling of a plan refers to allotment of time that is made for each
activity that are supposed to be undertaken within a project.
Controlling: The controlling is an important task that is done for monitoring the progress
of project so that a review can be made at each stage and corrections can be made if
necessary (Rosenau and Githens, 2011).

Implementation phase: The next step is to put the entire plan into motion by performing each
activity and task. The project manager will observe the work of team members closely so that
the evaluation can be done and required corrections can be done at initial stages. Thus, it will
help in executing the project as per the set cost, time and control plan.
Closure phase: The final stage of the project is related with its successful closure where the the
project is handed over to the client and the contract is terminated. The evaluation of project is
done so that confirmation of project as per the requirement can be checked. If there is any lack.,
it can be resent to the project manager for making corrections (Shen and et.al., 2010).

4. Stability: There are chances of cause system freezing, crashing and lagging.
5. Less familiarity: The new system may not prove to be of user friendly. As a result, there
can be chances of facing issues (Wiek and Lang, 2016). Yet it may be perceived as
positive as it will give opportunity to learn about new techniques.
6. Loss of existing features: The new system may not have some existing features that pose
difficulty in using the new system.
