1ANALYSIS OF PROJECT RISK MANAGEMENT
Analysis of importance of risk register in project risk management:
When a project is implemented, then there are various aspects that need to be identified for
ensuring success in a project. Some of the important aspects of a project are project scope
analysis, defining project schedule and budget, providing communication plan for project and
stakeholder management plan. Along with these aspects, in order to execute a project
successfully it requires a proper plan for managing risks in project which is required to
identify and mitigate project risks as well (Khameneh, Taheri & Ershadi, 2016). However, in
order to design a proper risk management plan in project, it is required to design a risk
register as this helps in identifying project risks and implementing strategies for mitigating
project risks. Therefore, risk register is of significant importance for project risk
management.
When risks of a project is analysed, then risks that are identified in risk analysis are provided
in risk register. Along with that strategies that are considered for mitigating those risks are
also included in risk register. Once risk register is completed it provides a comprehensive
idea regarding risks in project and risk mitigation strategies as well (O'Har, Senesi, &
Molenaar, 2017). Therefore, it helps project team to design and implement strategies for
project that is in accordance with project risk mitigation strategies and this is essential for an
effective project risk management strategy as well. Therefore, while designing a risk
management plan for a project, risk register is provided for documentation of project risks
and strategies for mitigation of those risks in project (Firmenich, 2017). It ensures that design
and implementation of project risk management strategies are effective and efficient as well.
