AI Summary
This report provides a comprehensive analysis of project management principles, focusing on the application of these concepts within a construction project context. It begins with the development of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and its dictionary, outlining the key tasks and deliverables required for the successful completion of the project. The report then details the creation of a project schedule using a Gantt chart, visually representing the timeline and dependencies of various project activities. Furthermore, it discusses the critical process of project scheduling planning, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with stakeholders to establish a realistic and agreed-upon project time baseline. The report also includes a reflective section, offering insights into the project scheduling work performed, and concludes with the application of project time management techniques to a specific case study, highlighting strategies for efficient resource allocation and task prioritization. This document provides valuable insights for students and professionals seeking to understand and apply project management methodologies.

Introduction
Project management can be defined as the process which leads the team work in order to
accomplish the project goals within a given constraints. This is information which is explained in
the form of project documentation that is created at the beginning of the development process.
Some of the constant includes the project scope and time along with the budget and many more.
The given case study is based on the MMI Company who wants to build premises in Sydney and
having some particular requirements. Basically this project is in the construction area (Levy,
2018). Therefore the following discussion is based on the work breakdown structure and its
dictionary along with the project schedule using Gantt chart. Moreover the report also discusses
the project scheduling planning work along with the stakeholders and agreement on the project
time baseline. The report also views the reflection on the project scheduling work performed in
the task and applying project time management techniques to the given case study with
conclusion.
Develop a WBS and a WBS Dictionary
Work breakdown structure is reviewing the finding premises in Sydney which contains
800 to 1000 square metres and on-site parking for staff and natural light. Its structure includes
enough room for 5 to 7 classes and one meeting room along with the one computer lab and one
into the student kitchen. Moreover, a student lounge and one into the staff kitchen along with the
three offices for staff and toilet facilities. In order to build this project it is important to rent the
premises and obtain the necessary permits along with the sourcing architect and building
company. Furthermore sourcing and buying furniture and equipment along with the liaise with
the architect and building company. The project steering committee is composed of the non
executive director and CFO along with academic manager. These are all the requirements of the
work breakdown structure for the given case study project management.

The above-mentioned information in a tabular form is the Gantt chart of the entire
project. It mainly consists of 5 stages to complete the project. Initiating is the first step where the
entire analyzing of the process is initiated and introduced. Planning is the second step where
feasibility study and resources are examined. Execution is the third step where implementation is
being done in a practical form as per the needs and requirements of the planning and the other
stages. Monitoring and controlling is the fourth step in which the evaluation is done that the
expectations have made the actual completion of the project or not so that the enhancement can
be done according to the requirements. Closing is the fifth step in which the closing documents

are required to be completed which are the basic formalities for the completion (Fewings and
Henjewele, 2019).
Discuss the project scheduling planning work with relevant stakeholders to
reach an agreement on the project time baseline
Project scheduling planning work is based on some of the project constraints such as time
and scope along with the cost of the project. Time duration is approximately one year to
accomplish the entire project. Talking about the cost of the project then it combines the entire
cost of raw material along with the human resources and the maintenance cost is estimated above
the average of 10 lakh to 14 lakh for a single floor. Scope of the project includes that it is
important to construct for better future of the students and good profit making by the
organisation (Richardson and Jackson, 2018).
Reflect on the project scheduling work performed in this task
Reflection on the project scheduling work performed in the above task as such that it is
an effective development of the work breakdown structure and gain chart along with the project
scheduling planning work. I have established all these requirements as per the needs of the given
project case study. This helped me in gaining various levels such as research skills and
construction knowledge along with the project management techniques (Kerzner, 2019).
Apply project time management techniques to a Case Study
Time management techniques which can be applied in the current given case study for
the project management as such that it is important and efficient to plan the work ahead. This is
because it helps the manager to plan the mitigation of the hazards estimated. It is essential to
focus on one task at a time rather than multiple tasks in order to set clear priorities for better
achievement of each and every task. it is significant to minimise the interactions for smooth
functioning of the entire project so that complications can be minimised. Moreover, it is
imperative to set shorter deadlines so that it cannot be delayed and time management can be done
in an effective manner. It is important to delegate each and every activity to the team members so
that work can be broken down for better working of the entire project. Additionally summarising
the each day activities is highly vital so that review can be taken in order to monitor and control
the delaying deadlines (Tonchia, Tonchia and Mahagaonkar, 2018).

Conclusion
It is concluded that project management is an important concept to learn and study so that
its applications can be applied in real world organizations. This is because the concept and
process of project management helps in the completion and accomplishment of the big projects.
The reason being that it studies the entire project in an in-depth manner along with feasibility
study. Therefore it is important to analyze the work breakdown structure and its dictionary. It is
essential to examine the project schedule using a Gantt chart. It is necessary to determine the
project scheduling planning work with relevant stakeholders to reach an agreement on the project
time baseline. It is significant to gain the knowledge about the reflection on the project
scheduling work performed in the task. It is imperative to study the project time management
techniques for a given case study. Therefore this report covers all such areas in order to better
understand the conception of project management.
