Components of Project Scope Management:
Project scope defines the group of activities those are needed to be done in order to
deliver the product to the customer in time. There are three steps in project scope management-
planning, controlling and closing.
Planning phase includes the setting of the objectives of the project.
The controlling of the project includes the scope creep of the project, tracking and
approving of the tasks in the project.
Closing of the projects defines the closing of the project after serving its purpose.
There are components that define the scope management. These are-Project objectives,
Goals, Task, Budget, Resource, Schedule
To make the project scope management successful SMART objectives are needed to be
followed.
SMART criteria has five components-
Specific: This attribute defines that the objective of the project needs to be clear.
Measurable: This attribute defines to measure the progress and the reliability of the
project.
Achievable: This attribute define that the goal of the project is realistic and achievable in
the real case scenario.

Relevant: The tasks those are needed to be done in the course of the project are needed to
be relevant to the goal of the project.
Time-bound: The project is needed to be done within the allocated time.
Importance of good project management scope:
The project management scope helps to understand the requirement of the project for the
both the developers and the end users (Fleming and Koppelman 2016). It helps to identify certain
risks that can arise during the development of the project. Project management scope also helps
to eliminate the unnecessary requirements in the process (Marcelino-Sádaba et al. 2015).
Moreover, it plays an important role to define the control mechanism for the project.
Impacts of the nature of project management scope on the compilation of a project:
In a project of developing software the requirement can be different (Golini,
Kalchschmidt and Landoni 2015). A project for developing a online railway reservation portal,
if the requirements are defined properly, it would be helpful for the developer to develop the
project (Snyder 2014). The clients need to be aware the goal of the project, only then they can
provide the justified requirement.
The same project can be seen from the end users view point and the administration’s
view point. The requirements from both the view point are different. In this case if the clients is
not aware of the role they are going to play while developing the software, the requirements
provided by them, may not be clear to the developers. This can bring the instability in the final
project, which is not desirable.
