EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Project refers to some task which is associated with completing the assigned
task in systematic manner. There is requirement of complete and specific information
about project, so activities will be planned and organised accordingly. It is important that
manager have to regular analyse changes so it will be easy for them to understand
actions which has to be taken to over come with issues. In this report, there is
discussion about Portsmouth Festival of the Sea which is an event organised in 2021
from 27th August 2021 to 29th August 2021. the main aim of this project is to determine
ways and techniques through which sustainability and green environment is considered.
Hence there is program organised for the purpose of bid and it is essential to take
actions through which cultural and natural resources does not get farmed.
In this report, there will discussion about understanding and collecting
information about bidding process, work break down structure, project life cycle model,
schedule of activities with the help of Gantt chart, break down of cost, economic
benefits which society will earn, justifications of benefits to local people and lastly
success criteria of completing the project.
Work break down structure assist in completing whole project in small chunks
and dividing activities among individuals. Project life cycle model provides information
about role and importance of stages of project and its impact on completing whole task.
With the help of three point estimation technique, it will be easy for manager to
determine cost and estimated budget. Total budget of the project will be bifurcated into
labour cost, material cot, logistic cost, etc. so it will be easy to maintain budget for whole

INTRODUCTION
Sustainability refers to the meeting the current needs and demands of the
present without compromising the ability of their future generations in order to meet their
own needs and demands. The concept of sustainability is composed of three pillars
such as social, environmental and economical. With the help of these concepts, it has
been made successful to make improvement in the level of working of different
organisations along with considering the needs and demands of companies as well. The
following assignment will make its focus o the development of different activities which
are needed to be completed at the time of completing a project. With the help of these
activities, it will be made possible to achieve successful completion of the project along
with meeting the goals and objectives of the project also. The main focus of this project
will be made on the sustainability and green environment promotion which is an
important aspect for the safety and security of environment such as preventing it from
polluting and many more aspects as well. At the time of festivals, people make use of
more things that make increment in the level of pollution. The different aspects which
are covered in the assignment will be providing an overview of the Bid Project such as
deliverable, outlining the project along with Work Break Down Structure of the activities
and the key tasks involved. In addition to this, the discussion will be made about the
Project Life Cycle Model for planning the project along with schedule of the planning
activities. Further, the project will also make discussion about breakdown of costs for
the budget allocation upto £2.5 million that could make the effective completion of the
project. Moreover, the assignment will provide an overview of the economic benefits
that will be generated as the income with the conduction of this festival. Lastly, the
project will also provide a justification for the potential legacies arsing out of the festival
along with success criteria for the project which are minimum and discussion of the
measurement of these success criteria as well.

Objective 1: Overview of the Project Bid and an outline programme of events for the 2
day festival
Bid refers to the process in which particular product or service is being priced.
There are some individuals who are involved in this process but they have complete
information about all the characteristics. There is requirement of complete information
because among all the bidders the one who bids lowest will allotted with the project. In
this report, there will consideration of bidding process for Portsmouth Festival of the Sea
2021 and project team is hired by Council of Portsmouth City. There will organisation of
festival which is also known as floating festival because this is organised in sea. The
main aim of this bid or the main component which has to be considered by bidders is to
understand and determine the best ways through which individuals are considered and
evaluated is to take acre of environmental and ethical considerations. There will use of
complete and specific information through which they can determine best way which will
be considered. It is important and relevant for people to understand the ways through
which environment can be cured.
Portsmouth Festival of the Sea 2021 will be organised for two days, hence
bidders have to determine best ways through which they can maintain decorum and
take care of environmental prospects. With change in operations, it is important for
people to communicate. This festival is organised at very large scale, hence there are
possibilities that environment might gets affected. There are many people who are

then at Portsmouth Sea can not organise this festival ion long run.
Project deliverable refers to some tangible or intangible components which will
arise with conducting project properly. There is some information which is
communicated to stakeholders regarding getting after completing the project. There are
some deliverables which stakeholders of the Portsmouth Festival of the Sea 2021 will
get are-
 There will job opportunities to local people regarding near by Portsmouth sea
because they are not the one who makes changes properly and perform
operations with change in business activities. There is use of solar energy,
natural resources are optimally used through which activities are performed
properly and cost of availing services will also low because main theme of
festival is “Sustainability” and “Green Environment”.
 There will allotment of some space or canopies to local people where they can
sell their items such as artisans, painters and other handicraft work. With change
in operations, it will be easy for association to determine and understand policies
properly.
 The main component with this project is that all the task are properly organised
and there will no confusion among individuals when they are availing services
from here. There is change in operations because natural and cultural prospects
are at priority. So with this event, there will nil issue to natural resources.
 There will allotment of time schedule through Gantt chart, hence it will be easy
for people to know what activity will be done and at what time. There will use of
complete and specific information with local individuals of Portsmouth sea
because they are allotted with task for making this event of festival success.
This project will be completed within specified time and attaining aim because all
the project activities are planned and organised properly for understanding and creating
awareness among people. In order to maintain sustaining and using concept of green
environment, it is essential that local people of Portsmouth Sea must have awareness
about it. They must prefer to use environment savy items through which it will be easy

for them to communicate with other people. There is requirement of change in business
activities with which people came to know about ways to deal with it.
In order to complete this project with positive note, project manager have to take
care of some points and make proper schedule of conducting activities. There are bright

planning
Work break down structure refers to the technique of project management
because this is the way through which complex project activities will be diverted into
smalls chunks. It will be easy for project manager to determine and understand ways to
complete the task (Jeong and et. al., 2015). Managing and organising project for festival
is not easy task because the main objective of this project is to maintain sustainability
and promotion of green environment,. It is important for project manager to understand
and determine what activities have to be conducted and make changes in better and
effective manner. There is completion of information with project manager, so it will be
easy for them to understand and determine changes properly.
Work break down structure is the diagram of activities in hierarchy manner as
activities are communicated properly and understanding is done about it. There are
many activities which has to be planned by project manager such as financial activities,
collecting and communicating with local people, etc. so this is not possible when it is
divided in small hunks. Hence there is discussion among people to understand what
has to be done to achieve targets. With change in activities, it will be easy for people to
determine and understand changes properly.
For understanding and determining activities there are two phases of conducting
operations i.e. conception and definition phase (Jupp, 2017).
Conception phase: in this there is study of information with which individuals are
