This project focuses on the application of project management principles to ensure security in major international sporting events. It begins with a detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that outlines the project's phases, including initiation, planning, execution, and closing. The WBS breaks down the project into manageable tasks with durations, start and finish dates, and predecessors, providing a clear roadmap for the project's lifecycle. The project objectives include providing security to venues, transit systems, increasing the number of recruits, and training them to specific security standards. The project involves requirement analysis, event review, team meetings, venue and security requirement reviews, abstract plan creation, and approval from the governing body. The planning phase includes project charter development, scope definition, objective and goal setting, budget and risk assessments, and a complete project plan. Execution involves recruiting and training security personnel, including weapons and firearms training, evaluation, and full-time hiring. The closing phase includes review, deployment orders, project documentation, and sign-off. Work Breakdown Structure
Very often, due to the complex or long nature of a project, it is required to break it down
to simpler work packages for the convenience of planning, scheduling, budgeting or even for the
team members who will work in the project. For example, if a contractor is told to build just a
house, it will be difficult for him to undertake but if he told to develop the design of the house as
per certain specifications, plan for the construction as per design and then proceed to
construction of the house, it will be much more easier for him to understand and execute the
project. This role of breaking down the project for the purpose of working on separate work
packages that can be scheduled and budgeted individually is fulfilled by the work breakdown
structure, which is developed, considering the given case study, as shown in the following table.

Project Objectives
The main objectives of the project are as follows.
