Discussion
Management of a global project require a different skillset. The global project managers
need to have specific skillsets that can enable management and execution of the undertaken
project. The managers need to possess certain particular personal traits and competencies that are
important for management of global projects (Kerzner, 2018). The skills needed by managers of
the global project are indicated as follows-
1. Leadership: The leadership skills is needed by the managers of the global projects
since it is linked with the management of cross cultural teams (DuBois et al. 2015). An effective
leader only has the capability of bringing the cross cultural team together in management of a
project.
2. Communication: Effective communication skills is needed to be possessed by the
managers for establishing an efficient communication channel among the members.
3. Risk Management: The manager needs to identify and prioritize the risks and the
issues linked with the project.
4. The manager needs to be a good motivator to motivate the team in performing to their
best.
I am going to discuss a project undertaken by the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) as I have
been closely associated with the organization and have researched about the projects that are
generally undertaken by the organization. On discussing the methods that can be appropriately
used in project selection methods, I would like to discuss the project of new Zirconium
fabrication plant in NFC.

There are a number of processes and methods that can be appropriately used for project
selection and processes in a project. For effective management of the project linked with the
development of the new Zirconium fabrication plant in NFC, planning of the undertaken project
play a key role. In planning the undertaken project, the schedule and budget estimation is done as
a part of the plan. For accurate identification of the undertaken project budget, the scope of the
undertaken project is needed to be identified. As per the scope of the project, the project is
accurately planned (Larson & Gray, 2017). Apart from that, as a part of preparation of the
project, the resources required in the project is correctly analyzed. Analysis of the resource
requirements of a project ascertains that the budget estimation of the undertaken project is
accurate (Galvin et al. 2014). Along with that, in this particular project, the selection process
involves checking the skills and the competencies of the team members prior to development of
the team.
