Part 4 (Individual)
4.1 Reflection
This project has helped me in gaining an understanding of the different project
management tools and techniques. Knowledge about appropriate project
management tools is necessary in order to ensure that the project is being
implemented according to the plan. This further increases the probability of success
of the project. I have understood that having proper leadership skills is essential in
order to ensure that the project team members are working as per the project
specifications. An excellent leader necessarily posses appropriate communication
skills to communicate the issues with the team members and to lead the project
team towards successful completion of the project. Therefore, appropriate
communication skill is an important consideration for the project management team.
It is therefore essential for a project manager to be a good project leader in order to
effectively manage a project team. The project manager should posses an
appropriate problem solving ability so that the major issues in a project can be
solved in an appropriate manner. Apart from that, the project manager should be an
excellent team builder so as to lead the team towards appropriate project
completion. Apart from that it is essential for the project manager to maintain honesty
and integrity in team management. Furthermore, a project manager is needed to be
focused in order to achieve the project goals. These leadership qualities of the
project help a project manager in successfully executing a project and further helps
in ensuring that the project is implemented according to the given project
specifications.
The project manager should have knowledge about the technique of appropriate
project scheduling and budget estimation in a project. Apart from that, a project
manager should have proper negotiating skills to control various aspects of a project.
A project manager needed to have an idea of appropriate risk management process
and risk control mechanism in successful management of the project.
