It delves into both internal and external factors, such as the selection of appropriate project management methodologies (particularly agile), requirement analysis, team composition, communication, and risk management. Introduction
The success and the failure of the project is dependent on the different factors. Some of
these are internal factors and others are the external factors. In this situation these factors are
needed to be considered by the project manager before the compilation and during the develop
time of the project.
The main objective of this paper is to understand the different aspects of the project and
is significance on the success and failure of the project (Chou & Pramudawardhani, 2015). It has
been seen that other than the cost and time there are some human resource factors those are
equally responsible for the determination of the success and the failure.
In order to understand the factors, the project chosen is regarding online ticket booking
system. The project evaluation in this case has maintained the defined five steps in AGILE.
However, it has been seen that the selected project is a successful project (Serrador & Pinto,
2015). The factors will be discussed on the basis of these attributes and the conclusion will be
drawn on the basis of the factors found in the discussion.
Description of the project
There are different factors those are responsible for success along with the failure of the
project. The selected project is the online ticket booking system. It is a software development
project where the expert knowledge is needed for the implementation of the functionalities. The
factors which are responsible for success or the failure of project can be discussed on the context
of this project.

Potential factors for the success and failure of the project along with the justification
Choosing of methodology: The choosing of methodology is important factor for the
successful development of the project. It can be said that the proper project management
methodology will be able to adopt all the five steps mentioned in the agile. However, agile can
be regarded as a standard for the development of the project (Aga, Noorderhaven &
Vallejo,2016). It has been seen that the different project methodology has different approaches
however, these approaches can be mapped onto the five defined steps in the agile.
Section of the right methodology is important in this context. Different project
management methodology is compatible for the different types of projects. It can be said that that
the success of the project regarding the online ticket booking system has been achieved as the
right project management methodology is selected for compilation of the project (Doulabi &
Asnaashari, 2016). As it is a software development project, the selection of the agile
methodology has helped the project to deliver the right outcome. Apart from that using the agile
methodology has brought the flexibility in the development process. It has helped to avoid the
scope creep as the methodology was flexible enough to adopt certain changes during the
development process.

Analysis of the requirements: The analysis of the requirements is another important
factors for determining the success and the failure of the project. The clients in the project can
have different point of view regarding the system. In this situation, it is important to understand
the requirements of the clients in a proper way (Joslin & Müller, 2015). In order to do that the
project manager of the online ticket booking system did some meetings with the clients in order
to understand their requirements in a clear way. The analysis of the requirements and the proper
documentation of the requirements will help the project to avoid the scope creep. The mitigation
of the possible scope creep will help project to be delivered within time maintaining the
estimated budget.

Choosing the right team members: The formation of the team is important for the proper
development of the project. It has been seen that the project members are needed to be
knowledgeable regarding the technology used in the development of the system.
In this case, the knowledge of the web development was important for the development
of the online ticket booking system (Dwivedi et al., 2015). The team members were selected on
the basis of their knowledge in this domain. Apart from that the selection of the team leader for
the leading the project development team is important in this context.
The selection of the project manager is needed to be approved by the team members as
well as the management of the organization (Berssaneti & Carvalho, 2015). The approval of the
team members will help the team leader to lead the team. On the other hand the approval of the
higher authority will make it sure that the selected person will be qualified enough to lead the
team in a proper way. For the development of the online ticket booking system, the project team
leader was selected on the basis of the approval of both team members and project managers.
Maintaining communication in team: Maintaining the communication in the team is
important at for determination of the success or the failure of the project. If the proper
communication takes place in the team, the implementation of the project can be successful
(Dyer, 2017). In this situation, the project manager has to take the responsibility that the team
members are communicating with each other in a proper way.

In case, if any team members of the project is stuck with the implementation, the other
team members can help to solve that problem out (Hornstein, 2015). On the other hand proper
communication glow will make the team leader of the project management team to become
approachable to the team members.
During the implementation phase of the online ticket booking system, there was flow of
communication between the different team members of the project. This has helped in the brain
storming process that has developed different innovative ideas regarding the development of the
project. On the other hand the team leader of this project team hold meetings with team members
on a weekly basis so that progress of the project can be evaluated in a proper way (Lindhard &

Larsen, 2016). This can be regarded as the factor for success of the project regarding the
implementation of the online ticket booking system.
Presence of the risk management process: One of the important factor that has to be taken
care of for the success of the project is maintaining the proper risk management while
developing the project. Risks can be regarded as the unavoidable circumstances during the
development phase of the project (Yeoh & Popovič, 2016). Risks in the development of the
project cannot be eliminated completely. However, risks can be mitigated through the proper
risks assessment planning. The assessment of the risks starts with identification of the risks in the
project.
During the development of the project regarding the online ticket booking system, it has
been seen that the proper assessment of the risks has been done. On the other hand, the risks are
taken care of through the quick response process. Apart from that the prioritization of the risks
has been implemented in the process of the development.

Proper leadership of the project manager or project leader: Another attribute for the
successful management of the project is presence of the proper leadership of the project manager
or the project leader (Donnelly, 2017). It has been seen if the employees or the team members of
the organization cannot take part in the decision making process regarding the development of
the project they may feel demotivated to process with the work. The leadership style of the
project manager should include the opinion of the members of the team regarding the
implementation of the system. Apart from that it is the responsibility of the project team leader to
motivate the team members so that they can collectively work to achieve the goal of the team.

Justification for the success of the project
It has been seen that during the development of the online ticket booking system, the
team leader of the project team has motivated the members of the project to work together so that
they can collectively reach to the goal (Gagné, 2019). Apart from that it has been seen that the
project team leader of the tem has maintained the leadership style where the decision making
process includes taking the different opinions of the different team members of the project team.
This approach has made the project team members feel valuable for the development of the
project.
Conclusion
The discussion is regarding the development of the successful project. In this context, the
mention of some factors are done those are responsible for success or the failure of project. It has
been seen that with proper presence of the mentioned factor can bring the success of the project.
On the other hand the absence of these factors can make the project a failed one. In order to
understand the significance of these factors the use of a successful project regarding the online
ticket bookings system has been taken. It can be concluded from the above discussion that the
maintenance of all the factors needed for the successful project development were present during
the online implementation of the ticket booking system.
