Importance of appropriate behaviour
Promoting an appropriate behaviour and respect for other in an education institution is
not a privilege but it is considered as a basic fundamental right (Gil-Madrona and et. al. 2019). So
it is very important to promote appropriate behaviour in school and colleges because it helps in
building unity between the students and encourages teamspirit. It also increases motivation of the
students as they feel that are respected and valued by the college and their classmates. In the case
of FE college it can be seen that it directly discriminates between the students on the basis of race
by not treating the Asian pupils and the White pupils equally. It is not right, by limiting the time
on playground for Asian people, it is a direct indicator of discrimination. However, it should
create some ground rules which are common for everyone and built a positive environment by

Ways to promote equality
The main aim of promoting equality is to raise awareness among individuals to treat
everybody fairly and equally (Knif, 2020). From the scenario of the FE college it is seen that college
needs to promote equality and value diversity. There are various ways in which it can promote
equality:
By treating every student equally regardless of their race, religion and gender identity.
By respecting and recognizing the differences related to ethnicity, disability and faith. And
keeping in mind diversity is strength.
By building positive attitudes and relationships which will result in promoting mutual
respect between staff and students.
By creating an environment where there is shared sense of belongingness and where
students feel valued.
Establishing a safe inclusive learning environment
It is very important to create an environment which is safe and sustain for inclusive learning
as its supports the growth of the individuals in their young age and into their adult life (Steck, 2018).
FE college must establish a safe environment by:
Avoiding stereotypes in the curricular and teaching syllabus
Setting clear rules about how people treat each other
Treating all staffs and students equally
Promoting multiculturalism amongst the students
Building policies and procedures which are non-discriminatory.
Opportunities for learners to provide feedback
An effective learning is only possible when there is effective communication between the
students and the teachers. Feedback is a key element in every field including education institution.
Institution should engage in collaborative conversation with its learners. So that it will teach
learners to communicate their feedback and thoughts effectively. And also, it motivates the
students as they feel they are being heard and valued
Institution can come up with suggestion box that are placed in every corner of the corridors so
students can freely give they opinions and suggestion
Also, it can set up various committees where they student can share their problems and ideas
about the college.
