1DISSERTATION
Project Lifecycle in Property Development Business
(A=Alenza Aliya, Aged 29, Electrician, Construction Company, I=Interviewer)
I: Hello Sir, I hope you have gone through the terms and ethical policies regarding the interview?
A: Yes yes, I do go through them. It’s ok, you can go ahead.
I: Ok. Let us proceed with this interview. How long have you been associated with this
organization?
A: 2 years.
I: What are the key challenges for our company today and how can those tackle effectively?
A: A lot. One of the main challenges that our company faces in each phase of project lifecycle is
unrealistic project deadlines and impractical expectations of project clients and stakeholders.
Most of the timeline of our project is slip because of unrealistic initial project deadlines. Our
project managers are taking care of project deadlines by proper planning and communication of
real time progress of the participants. We are planning the construction work as per
requirements, manage project schedule and keep track of project dates for each individual
activities.
I: Can you explain project lifecycle?
A: In my point of view, the project lifecycle will run from project initiation through post
implementation review of delivered end products. Sometimes, it is understandable because of
complicated nature plus diversity of the project work.

2DISSERTATION
I: Do you think the project manager have a significant role to play in project lifecycle phases?
A: Yes they do. They are our main areas of strength.
I: So, do you think without project lifecycle is critical for any managers to deliver project to the
client successfully?
A: Yes, I think so. The project life cycle is a way to describe life of the project. Each of the
projects is started and ended, and failed when it is not able to complete on scheduled time.
I: Do you actually think that organization will fail to meet with growing demands of the
employees without lifecycle?
A: Most of the time they do. Although in some cases, I have seen that even project lifecycle is
not enough for some employees to work harder. They just complete their daily work duties and
go home.
I: Why does a construction organization require new lifecycle for project management?
A: Construction project management is required in the project to keep with our management
skills to stay competitive in the market. It is used to manage resources over the project lifecycle
for controlling scope, time, cost and quality.

3DISSERTATION
I: Have you noticed any significant enhancement in the corporate performance after the
implementation of project lifecycle phases in construction project?
A: There has been a lot of improvement, yes. More than 75% of our employees regularly
overshoot their targets, thus helping in our overall construction work performance.
I: Have you noticed any negative impact of the lifecycle on the performances of the employees?
A: Yes, for a few employees, I have seen they are compromising with the quality of their work. I
never want to compromise on quality of work.
I: Well, thank you very much for your valuable time and feedback and we will end the interview
right here. Hope you have a great day!
G: Thank you and good day! (Smiles)
