INTRODUCTION
My proposal is to study the increasing cost of parking fees. The fees charged for parking have
become high hence affecting most vehicle owners. This proposal aims to find out why the
parking fees have become high and suitable ways to deal with the high parking fees. Parking is
necessary for people using vehicles as it provides them with a place to park their vehicles as they
attend to various activities. There are public parking spaces and also private parking spaces.
Parking fees and spaces are collected and created by the government respectively as one way of
generating revenue and also ensuring that there is order and safety in the way people park their
vehicles. Also, it is used to regulate the resources that are available. Example, if people were to
park their cars the way they wanted, it would create chaos and disorganization. Therefore, a
policy to regulate how parking is done and fees charged for people to access the parking slots is
necessary. This ensures that the spaces are easily available without increasing the parking spaces
themselves. If the parking fees were reduced, everyone would be able to afford it and hence there
would be disorganization with everyone scrambling to get any available space left. The parking
spaces would be filled and therefore little parking spaces would be available. By increasing the
parking fees, people would park for a less time hence creating more space for other people who
are in need to use the parking spaces.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Recently various towns and countries have come up with ways to increase parking spaces. Some
of the methods include construction of parking buildings. Due to the decreasing land that is
available in towns and cities, these parking building take up minimal space and are able to hold
many vehicles. These building are able to have parking spaces of more than two hundred and
fifty cars. With the construction of these building, parking spaces are increased and also the
parking fees can be reduced. The buildings are secured hence the vehicle is safe.
Secondly, the government can reduce the fares for the bus system and trains so that more people
can opt to use the public means of transport hence reducing the number of people using their
private vehicles to work places. The less number of people using their private vehicles the more
number of parking spaces that will be available. This will ensure that the parking spaces are
easily available hence reducing the parking fees.

CONCLUSION
There is need for the government and the private sector to conduct enough research to ensure that
there is a fair balance in the parking fees charged. The government agency responsible for the
parking fees and spaces must ensure that the policies that are made should be fair to the members
of the public and at the same time ensuring that they are delivering the best service to the public.
The parking fees should be favorable to each and everyone that owns a vehicle
