INTRODUCTION
Human Resource is considered as a discipline that needs management training and
leadership in order to build the skills (John and Taylor, 2016). The practitioners of HR who have
deeper knowledge regarding appropriate skills in order to generate more opportunities within
more cooperative world. There are various skills that are crucial to become HR these skills plays
vital role in growth and develop within this field. The skills are communication, Problem
solving, decision-making, time management, leadership and many more. The HR needs to deal
with various people and also work with diversified staff. Present Report focuses on literature
review, experience and reflection on task done in work placement requirement of skills for
analysing requirements and appropriate solutions for companies like PSPA. It is a charity
organization to work upon understanding their donors to whom they serve and assist them to
understand several ways within which can bring donation within several forms and work for the
development strategy for such charitable firms.
LITERATURE REVIEW
According to the view of Alhidari and et.al., (2018), charitable organizations are those
companies whose focus is to promote welfare and social well-being of others. Their main interest
area is to serve public interest and common goods. It is extremely important for charity
organization to work upon developing strategies that can be used by them for bringing donations
so that they can work upon activities as per their need and interest. It is extremely important for
charitable organizations to work upon understanding their donors, target people to whom they
serve. This knowledge about target people to be served and people to whom company can target
for donations is important as it can help them to understand ways in which they can bring
donations and can work upon development of strategy for the same.
PSPA Charity Company
PSPA is UK based charity dedicated company dedicated to improve the lives of people
with PSP and CBD. Typically, it provides the funding research in context of treatments and
ultimately a cure. This organization is mainly focused on the neurological condition of people
caused by premature loss of nerve cells in certain part of their brain. It is directly affecting on the
brain functionality of individual’s.

In UK, Local groups provide a welcoming and friendly place for people affected by CBD
and PSP. Through this company, each and every family members, friends and other people to
meet up on regular basis, sharing their personal experience. In this way, it becomes easier for
charity firm to target the local groups where already spread the problem or issue across UK.
Nowadays, COVID -19 pandemic spreading all over the world. It is directly affecting the local
group who have been conducting the meeting, support and friendship. COVID-19 has sadly put
halt on this face to face meeting for a while. Usually, it may reduce the level of interaction
among different peoples. But charity firm is always trying to choose an appropriate idea for
resolving the issues through effective strategies.
PSPA Charity firm will try to implement virtual meeting strategy that help for
establishing a better coordination with individual’s during COVID-19. The company is looking
at way of helping, stay connected to old or new friends in safe, relaxed environment. Sometimes,
it should consider the virtual local group that use meeting on Zoom video call.
Requirement of skills for working PSPA and other similar profile of organization for identifying
appropriate source of fund
There are some skills which are required to have in people if they want to analyse or
identify requirements of charities organizations whose main aim is to help or improve health of
vulnerable people or people with specific diseases. In the context of PSPA, which is a UK based
charity and wants to improve lives of people with CBD (corticobasal degeneration). It is a
neurological disorder characterized by cell loss as well as deterioration of specific areas of the
brain. It is found that this company is getting affected due to Corona and because of this it is
finding problems in treating patients due to lack of donation. Affected people face several
problems in performing purposefully movement. Affected individuals at severe stage may also
exhibit memory loss, irritability and others (Thompson and et.al., 2020). So, it is important for
all workers at PSPA to take extra care of them and improve overall health of them. Some skills
which I have and helped me out in working with seniors and helping out to identify requirements
of such organization and making them able to continue their work.
Time keeping: Time keeping or time management is a skill which allows people to
complete their assigned tasks in a timely manner or given specific time. For helping out PSPA in
a timely manner and allowing them to protect patients from severe stages of disease and reducing

mortality rate, it is important for me to have this time management skill. For better time
management skill, staff require to prioritize goals, their important tasks and planning
accordingly. They need to estimate as this task will take this specific time and others. I can say
that I have this skill which makes us able to reduce stress and also maintaining a balance
between personal and professional life (Araújo and Pestana, 2017). In this context it can be said
that time table and reducing procrastination plays an important role in developing this skill.
Making an effective time table by prioritizing important tasks, helped me out in developing this
skill.
Importance: An effective and a good time management skill allow people to accomplish
more work in shorter period. It makes them stressed free at workplace and also improve their
concentration power. So, I can say that by developing this skill and making use of this skill I can
help PSPA in identifying appropriate donors and also allow patients to get effective treatment in
a timely manner.
HR skills: HR is the main key of the success as they have to play several functions as
they are mainly responsible for recruitment of skilled workforce and making them able to help
company in accomplishing their goals. One of the main skill which is important for identifying
requirements of PSPA and providing them donation is management of resources. Everyone is
allotted some resources and ability to manage and make them use in an effective manner allow
them to improve performance and reducing errors. Advising, coaching, labour relation,
managerial relation are skill HR skills which I have. These developed skills helped me out in my
workplace. It was developed by working with co-workers. I Focused more in team working and
as much as I worked in a team, it improved managerial and labour relations. Critical listening is
one of the main keys of improving or developing HR skills and it was the main reason which
made me able to improve all discussed skills.
Importance: Labour relation, managerial relation and resource management plays an
important role as it allows workers to become refreshed at workplace and reducing errors in
work. It is important to have labour and managerial relation skill because it can help me out in
identifying donors and making them able to provide fund to PSPA for continuing their services
for patients. Improved relation with people or donors can help me out to get required amount of
fund and also allowing staff of PSAP to improve health of patients as well as making them feel
comfortable (Barnes and Adam, 2017).

Ways of funding and required skills for this
Work placement: Workplace refers an area or location where different cultures and age
group of people work together. Work-placement can be defined as a limited period, during which
people work for an organization for getting work experience. It may be paid or unpaid. In the
context of work placement and working for similar profile of companies, there is requirement of
having some skills. All skills which play an important role and make us able to accomplish goals
include:
Team work: Team work refers a collaborative effort of a group of people for
accomplishing shared or same goal. Team working in an ability of working with group of people
in order to accomplish goals in an effective manner and reducing errors. For better team work
there is requirement of some skills such as: communication, decision-making, problem solving,
reliability and conflict resolution. I have only few skills among all of these and require to
improve some skills for improving overall performance and accomplishing goals. Among all of
these I have oral communication and problem solving skill. I developed these skills from my
seniors while dealing with customers at my office. When I was dealing with different needs and
behaviours of customers then initially I became nervous when they asked some questions related
to products and services. So, I took help of marketing manager and asked him about appropriate
ways of communicating and interacting with customers or people. They made me able to
improve problem solving skill because such situation happen while dealing with customers and
shareholders. So, as per their training and guidance, I developed these skills (Madani and et.al.,
2018). I need to improve decision-making skill because it also required for influencing
stakeholders or donors for funding to PSPA.
Time management: Time management refers skills which makes an individual able to
complete their tasks in specific or given deadline. For better time management it is also
important to have critical analysis skills as by analysing each point and factor in critical manner,
people can complete work by taking out some important tasks among them. At my work
placement and for working similar profiles of PSPA, I was given several tasks in a day like
identifying donors, influencing them, data analysing, data entry, reviewing policy and others. It
was important for me to complete all tasks in a timely manner so, I took help of my co-worker
about how to prioritize tasks. After his guidance I learnt the best way of prioritizing tasks and

working accordingly. This technique helped me out in developing this skill and also helped me
out at workplace (Ravi, 2019). I also learnt the importance of reducing procrastination as one of
my co-workers often complete all tasks in a timely manner and one of the main key or reason
was ability to complete tasks on the day only, it was given and reducing procrastination. So, both
my co-workers helped me out in developing this skill.
Communication: Communication is the vital and key of success of company. It incudes:
oral, written and visual. It refers an ability to exchange information in an effective manner. For
identifying as well as influencing donors for getting fund for PSPA and similar profile of
organizations, it is important of having effective communication skill as it makes us able to get
all information related to donors like their preferences, their feelings and others. All these
informations are required for taking better decision regarding fund. An effective communication
skill also make us able to provide fund to charity organizations and make them able to help their
patients in feeling comfortable with care providers and taking appropriate treatments. It can also
improve our relation with staff, donors which can help me out in the future as well. Donors are
more likely to help such companies when they are being treated and communicated in an
effective manner as it makes them feel valued. I was having this skill and this skill helped me out
in improving my performance at office. I focused on communicating with donors and such
organizations as much as possible and this ability and interest helped me out in supporting
patients who got affected due to Pandemic (Moreau, Eady and Jabbour, 2019).
Motivation: Motivation can be defined as a reason for people's actions or it can be said
that Whatever people do there is a motivation behind them. It can be known as goals for which
people work. In other words it can be said that motivation is a process that guides and maintain
goal oriented behaviours of people. It is what causes to people to act and behave. So, in this
context it can be said that there is requirement of having self motivation skill in all of us if we
want to work with such charitable organizations and making them able to continue their
functions and treat patients. This motivation skill helped me out in improving performance and
focus on work and the main aim. By setting goals and becoming self-motivated I can get a right
direction and by focusing on that direction I can accomplish my all goals and also can get several
career opportunities. In this context, I can say that I was having learning capability and
willingness of learning new things. This ability helped me out in developing self motivation skill

and I started to set some goals. When I started to achieve small goals then it boosts confidence
which improved my overall performance as well.

become frustrated when people contact to them continuously and influence them to provide
funds. So, there is requirement of having integrity skill (Dahn and et.al., 2018). This skill help us
out in making donors feel valued and understanding their needs and prioritizes if they have
thought already about donating to specific organization. In this context I can say that I developed
some skills with the guidance of my seniors as they helped me out in identifying my weaknesses
with appropriate ways of improving them. So, on the basis of feedback I focused on all those
areas in which I was lacking behind. So, this guidance and feedbacks helped me out in improving
some HR skills such as: performance management, collaboration and others.
On the basis of above definitions and discussion it can be said that communication, team
working, time management and HR skills play an important role for influencing donors and
making them able to donate funds to such organizations whose main aim is to help vulnerable
people and improving their health in this critical time. All these skills like problem solving, self
motivation, communication, team working, time management allow us to boost our confidence,
improving performance and making donors able to become independent. I can also say that these
skills made me able to find some donors or other sources of money to help PSPA and other
similar organizations. I collected money from government grants, found some donors and crowd
funding.
REFLECTION
On the basis of above discussion I can say that communication skill is vital and key of
accomplishing pre determined goals. On the basis of above discussion regarding skills required
for working PSPA and other similar profile of organizations, I can say that Workplace situations
as well as guidance of seniors and leader plays an important role because it makes us able to
develop all skills. Furthermore, my problem solving skill could also improve because I could
deal with people for crowdfunding, donors and banks for making and deciding the appropriate

ways of taking decision for solving problems of PSPA. My senior assists me and made me able
to deal wlth such issues and this improves my problem solving skills as such types of situations
deals with anytime so by the proper guidance as well as training I could improve problem
solving. At the same time while working with seniors I was dealing with some people for crowd
funding, communication, problem solving helped me out in influencing them. As with team
members I was dealing with them and several other donors so my oral communication could
improve and it aids me a lot not in my professional career but also in my personal life as well.
Within a firm managerial relations and labour relations plays a vital role as while working with I
already improved my relations in dealing with seniors, people and donors.
It also motivates them which is also good for me as now they cooperate more within such
companies whose main aim is to improve treatment process. Improved relations with manager,
people can help me out in collecting fund and helping PSPA and other similar organizations
because due to covid-19 and pandemic they got affected the most and due to these patients are
also suffering. So, my overall aim is to allow patients to get treatment by identifying donors and
funds to such organization. Also, I will try that there is no conflict occurs between managers and
my team so this will help in maintaining of relations for long time which will be beneficial for
growth and development of both labour and manager. This will aids in achieving of target in
specified time period and taking decisions quickly.
In the context of HR skills or decision-making which I discussed above I can say that I
was lacking in this skill and initially it created several problems at workplace. Decision making
is skill which makes us able to become refreshed. While dealing with people and donors for
making them influence to provide fund we all require taking better decisions as from which we
can take funds and others. It made me sometimes frustrated because I was not able to take better
decision as I had fear of failure in collecting fund. So, I took help of my seniors and told them
about my problem and weakness. They helped me out in solving this problem and told me better
ways of improving decision-making. They told me to focus on critical analysis because on the
basis of analysis only we can identify both positive and negative aspects of each factor. This
critical analysis helped us out in taking better decision. So, because of their help, support and
guidance I improved this decision-making skill and I believe that in the future I can take better
decision related to identifying donors prioritizes and decision of taking fund from appropriate
sources.

In addition, I also discussed above time management skill in which I was effective and
this time management skill helped me out to the great extent at my workplace. I got to know that
time management skill plays an important role in both personal and professional life. When we
complete all tasks in a timely manner then it makes us feel refreshed and tension free. We can
manage or balance our personal and professional life. Time management skill also helped me out
in boosting my confidence and performance appraisal. My seniors appraised me because of this
skill, and they were the one who motivated me to develop all skills. This improved time
management skill helped me out to improve productivity, reducing errors, limiting burnout and
improve professional satisfaction. Working for charities whose main aim is to improve health of
patient, is not an easy task because we have to deal with several people, donors for getting funds
from appropriate sources. So, it is important of having time management skill and ability to
complete all tasks according to the given deadline. So, I can say that time management plays an
important role as it helped me out in improving my overall performance and productivity.
Communication also plays an important role as it is one of the main ability which
improves flow of information and reduce miscommunication at workplace. In this context, I can
say that this skill helped me out in making people and donors influence about providing funds to
PSPA and other similar profile of organizations who got affected due to pandemic. An effective
communication is a combination of oral, visual and written skill in which visual and oral skill
play an important role communicating with people and getting crowdfunding. When we
communicate with them and try to interact with them then they are more likely to provide all
detailed information to us which helps us out in taking better decision.
CONCLUSION
From the above it had been summarized that there are some skills which are required to have
in people if they want to work for charities whose main aim is to help or improve health of
vulnerable people or people with specific diseases. PSPA provides a welcoming as well as
friendly place for people affected by CBD as PSPS tries to implement various virtual meeting
during the pandemic COVID 19, when all people are shut down within their homes. As workers
who were working within such charities may be frustrated because they had to deal with severe
patients of CBD, so for reducing stress there is requirement of having some skills. There are
various skills which is required for working PSPA and similar organizations in order to provide
