This research proposal investigates the impact of patient-centered care on improving the conditions of dementia patients within psychiatric hospital settings. It highlights the limitations of solely relying on medication therapy and proposes patient-centered care as a vital treatment approach. The proposal emphasizes the need for training nursing officials in communication skills to address the communication and behavioral challenges faced by dementia patients. A qualitative research methodology, involving interviews with nursing staff, is suggested to understand their experiences and identify effective strategies for improving patient wellbeing. The research aims to determine the positive impact of individualized care approaches on the physical and mental health of dementia patients, emphasizing the importance of tailored care plans and improved nurse-patient interactions. The expected outcome is to provide insights into enhancing nursing care for dementia patients, moving beyond traditional pharmacological treatments to incorporate more holistic and patient-focused interventions.
