Personal Statement
This statement is in regard with my admission procedure in your esteemed institution. I
have many goals and one of the most sacred ones is becoming the world-famous counselling
psychologist. Since my childhood, I have an inclination towards human behavioural changes and
their implications on the surroundings. Personally, I consider myself an empathetic person who
sees the other person's issues and problems as my own burdens. I have always tried to relate the
ethical relativism with human's mind and behaviour. After I passed from junior high, I actively
participated in various extracurricular activities to improve my understanding of other people
needs and responses. I am a firm believer of what goes around, it surely comes around.
Therefore, I am an ardent preacher of karma. On personal level, I enthusiastically contributed my
presence in all the organizing activities in high school. This led a revolutionary modification in
my approachability towards other people and their needs and aspirations. I am now good in
multi-tasking and is always ready to take up any challenge with dedication and commitment. I
am self-motivated and know the darker side of obstacles and struggles which paved the path of
self-actualization.
In a short span of time, I am clear that I want to pursue psychology as I have keen interest
in reading people minds and genuinely want to hear their hardships and success stories as well . I
refer people as the most interesting species on the earth. Along with this, I am a people centric
person who has an ability to connect with them in the most personal orientation. I have immense
patience with a sense of responsibility. Also, I gain people trust easily and never break it until
occurrence of any adverse situation or crisis. At high school, I established relationships with my
classmates, juniors and teachers that assisted me in gaining knowledge about the deepest fears
and other specific emotions that they were scared to share. Nonetheless, when I confronted them,
they opened up their bottled feelings like a wine which flowed in a smooth and swift manner. I
consider that each human has the right to feel and emote, however with changing parameters on
faster scale led to a robotic type of lifestyle. This has affected us in worse manner. People are
distrusting each other and leading an isolated life that hampering their mental health
exponentially. With advent of digitalization, people are becoming self-centred and are behaving
in the most abrupt order. They are attracted towards the materialistic objects. As per the societal
norms, the definitions are drastically changing and affecting people in the most profound mode.
It is affecting the mental state of individuals along with impacting their peace of mind (Henson

and Eller,2012). I feel that to bring any concrete change, one must have the audacity to become
the idol that they want somebody else to be. Thus, I would like to study the various facets of this
psychological world and to grasp each and every component to help and bring modifications in
systematic method. When I will graduate, I would like to treat the disabled and specially
challenged people and make them realise their significance for the upliftment of this society in
positive direction.
Furthermore, I would like to use my competencies and skills in the development of
human race by bridging the disparities on the basis of geographical boundaries, race, colour and
religion. In my childhood, I faced many incidents where I was mocked because of the way I
finished my tasks. Moreover, my friends and neighbours also shared their stories which shed
light on the negative outlook that has plagued today's population. Thus, by studying all the
subjects so that in near future, I would be able to practice as a vocational counselling
psychologist to curb the difficulties and problems of people easily. However, this undergraduate
degree would support me earn a living with respect and help me in evolving my abilities as per
the requirements.
Subsequently, I would like to draw your attention towards my inclination in joining your
college. I have a short-term goal to pursue my future aim by planning ahead in context to
learning aspect. I have decided that I am going to attend all the classes religiously to gain an
understanding on how to create the pathway that will lead to my journey of becoming a
professional counsellor. This would later help me in pursuing the counselling psychologist role
in professional set-up. Along this, I feel that one must be continuously improve to achieve their
static goals. There is an assurance attached when joining this college in tackling the dilemmas
and queries that one has right now (Jones, 2012). So that I can represent myself in effective
manner when competing in competitions, exhibitions etc. with other participants from other
colleges and universities. I am transparent and vocal about my ambition and this is mainly due to
the support and encouragement I attained in my high school. I have been a consistent student
with decent score and helped me in gaining insights that this is my future. However, I have
achieved this belief and knowledge due to my hard work and passion to strive excellence.
Additionally, I am also looking forward to give my undivided attention to all the courses
available to give myself an opportunity for overcoming my apprehensions and pursuing my
dream of becoming one of the renowned names in this field of psychology.

Therefore, I would like to conclude by drawing your attention to consider me for your
psychology course at undergraduate level. I can assure you that I will be an asset and would
contribute by promoting unity, team work and readiness to help each other out. By joining this
course, I will be ready to face the world in both personal and professional levels. Your university
would give me a platform that would enhance my chances of fetching good internships that
would ultimately take me to reach my ultimate goal of becoming a sufficient and competent
counselling psychologist.
