Situation in which defence mechanism was used by me
Projection is a kind of defence mechanism in which one’s own feelings, shortcoming is
attributed. I dislike one of my neighbours but instead of accepting this fact, I choose to dislike
the fact that they dislike me. For this I used projection defence mechanism. This mechanism
helped me relax and avoid uncomfortable repressed feeling I had for him.
Situation in which I know someone was using defence mechanism
Sublimation is a kind of defence mechanism which focuses on working off unacceptable
impulses in activities that are constructive. Whenever my best friend is angry or frustrated,
instead of shouting he used to start exercising and kickboxing and used to exercise till he is not
exhausted. At that time, I know that he is using Sublimation as a psychological defence
mechanism as this mechanism helps him to take out all of his frustration on exercise and
kickboxing.
Stress coping strategies
Six situations that threatened my well- being
Task provided at workplace is not fulfilled: it is one of the most common situations which is
faced by people on workplace that can affect anyone’s well- being.
Do not have a satisfactory job as job is not up to the mark: many people readily accept any
kind of job even if they are not satisfactory for financial support. These kinds of jobs mostly
exhaust people and can affect their well- being as well.
Excessive long working hours: it is another most common condition faced by people. Many
times, working hours for people are excessive because of which their both physical and
mental health is affected.
In-effective management at workplace: If organizations do not focus upon enhancing their
management then it can affect well-being of their employees or can threaten their well- being
in future.
Continuous work pressure from top management: if top management of an organization
continuously pressurize their employees and over- burden them with work then it can
become a threat and can impact their overall wellbeing.
Insufficient personal time: many times, because of excessive working hours or night shift it
becomes difficult for employees to focus on their sleeping routine and diet which can further
impact their well-being.

Personal plan that can help to cope up with stress
First step is to identify the problem. Here the main problem is management of personal and
professional life. Second step is time management: try to manage time by building schedule for
everything. This will help in taking out time for oneself like for meditation, sleeping, nutritional
diet, exercise etc. this will help in getting relaxed and manage all the stressful jobs. If any
stressful situation arises then use a defence mechanism in order to reduce anxiety and stress
situation.
One problem that was solved mechanically and one problem that was solved
by understanding
One problem that can be solved mechanically is when a person forgets their three- digit pin on
their cycle lock. Another problem that was solved by understanding was misunderstanding
between me and my co-worker
