support to Sam as he needs that
badly. It will also boost the
confidence level of Sam

hope within him and say
“Don’t worry dear, everything
will be normal again”
I will
communicate
with Sam in an
empathyful and
compassionate
tone
I will try and set up a
friendly relationship
with Sam, gain his
trust and belief. So
that, he does not feel
hesistated to share his
thoughts and feelings
I will comfort and
assure Sam by saying
“We are always there
with you” , never
make him feel
ignored or neglected

and emotions, listen
carefully to his needs
I will also stand beside
Rosie, give her mental
support, as she is a single
mother and has no one to
share her feelings and
thoughts. I will be the
listener. I will also conduct
counselling of Rosie, educate
her about cancer and its
treatment plans
I will make sure that the nurses
treat Sam like just another human
being, so that he feels that his
voice is being heard and
respected. I will talk personally
with Rosie, eradicate her
misconceptions about cancer, and
assure her that we will give our
best to ensure well-being of Sam.
I will share the stories of cancer
survivors with Sam(Miller et al,
2019), which will give him hope
and confidence.
