Week2 discussion:
Week 2 has really been very useful as it talked about the different ways in which the
psychologists will be able to carry on their research in the external world. In other words
psychologists often feel that interviewing the clients in their cambers is enough to understand the
psyche of them (Coolican, 2017). However it is not right because in order to understand the
psyche of the clients the helper or the psychologists have to treat them even in the external
environment. In other words the psychologist must also come out from their own laboratory and
also be able to treat their patients in the real messy world where they are actually spending their
time. 9.07Assessment by Unqualified Persons that is falling under the APA code. This shows
that the psychologists do not promote using the under qualified or unqualified persons for their
research, unless it is for training purpose (Mehl, 2014). Offering Inducements for Research
Participation falls under the ethical code APA Code of Ethics’ Standards 8
The Smartphone Psychology is a very interest concept that is being discussed here.
Smartphone technology is also very helpful because this not only helping in connecting the
world but it is also making the work of the psychologists very easier as it will enable them to get
a very ready platform for the collection of data. It must be noted that in the current scenario
many of the people are using smart phones on a day to basis. This is a very good platform for the
data collection about the day to day behavior of the users (Mehl, 2014).

Thank you for this nice and informative post. This is very useful as it enable me to
understand about the essential aspects of the ethical code of conduct. I have been able to learn
that the researchers must not make any excessive amount of finance in the research work because
this will be making the research work unethical in nature. However I have also been able to learn
about the ways in which the “full-cycle psychology” in order to make sure that the psychology
treatment is being done properly and by abiding all ethical code of conduct

This has been a very useful post. I am of the opinion that this is really enriching in nature
as this has helped me to understand about the different ways in which I can be an ideal
psychologist in the near future (Wang & Wanberg, 2017). However I feel that these concepts are
still in their stage of infancy like Smartphone psychology. Efforts have to be made by all the
Universities in order to make sure that they are teaching their students all these concepts. I have
been able to make sure that these concepts are being taught to all the upcoming students so that
they can use these later in their own research works.

Self repot method is very useful method in the field of psychology as this helps in making
the work much easier. However there are many pros and cons of using this method, on one hand
it is useful because this helps the user in making the different questionnaires, surveys and others
in order to make sure that they are being circulated to all the targeted customers or respondent.
However it must be ensured that the respondents or the targeted customers are being able to get

the actual concept or the actual motif of taking par in the survey. However the limitations are that
there is a huge uncertainty in this aspect. There is a chance that the respondents are unable to
understand about the questions or that they are having a differ view or a differ take on the subject
or on the questions that are being sent to them. The questions may be misunderstood by the
members and they not are able to give the right answer in the right time.
Reliability is the consistency or the similarity that is maintained among the time and also
the understanding of the researchers and the respondents as well. On the other hand validity is
the term that signified the extent or the limit to which the scores are actually representing the
variables or the sources.

These chapters have really been very helpful for enriching our knowledge. This is
because of the fact that this taught about some of the very interesting aspects of psychology.
‘Social Science’ or a ‘Soft Science. This is mainly because of the fact that the psychology studies
about the human psychology and about human behavior. At the same time it must be noted that
while doing self reporting the circulation of the surveys might also be unsuccessful. So, this is
advantageous because there is the opportunity of speaking directly with the people and getting to
know about their views. Therefore it is really evident that there are several differences or issues
in the behavior of the human beings as they can change from time to time (Collins et al., 2018).
This chapter is useful as it has helped in understanding about the usefulness of research.
Research helps the psychologists to develop an extensive platform that enables them to gather a

huge amount of information about the topics that they want to research. Using smart phones is
very useful for this purpose.
This will enable the psychologists to understand the state of the physical and the social
surroundings of the users. These devices help in tracking the physical (e. g., location, position)
and social (e.g., wireless connections around the phone) context of these interactions. Different
ways of tests are developed by the psychologists so that they can use the same for getting the
information from the targeted customers and also involve them in the entire study process.
Respondents are also able to get valuable lessons from the psychologists so that they can develop
their poor psychological sate. Often the respondents suffer from issues like stress. During these
times the doctors often refer the client to the psychologist. The psychologist has to make sure
that they are listening to all the issues that are being faced by the clients and then they are
helping them to get rid of it. The chapters have also been very useful because it taught about the
reliability and the validity concepts. This is useful because this has helped in understanding
about the differences between the two terms. Validity is the ability of the evidences to give the
same results each time they are put to test. However the term validity talks about the limit or the
extent till which the scores reprint the variable. In other words I have been able to get many new
and useful uses about psychology and the ways in which the different tests can be conducted in a
very useful and helpful manner.
