A Brief Background:
I was born in a small city called Boulder, adjacent to Denver, where I live now. Boulder is a very
small city, and back then, it was not even popular. Since Denver became famous, people have
come to know about the city. Boulder is situated in the Northern Colorado, as you know, and the
best art of growing up there, was the weather. Boulder is ideally surrounded by Rocky
Mountains, so you can understand how much fun and adventurous my growing up had had been.
It was beautiful, and although it is a very small city, but it is quite populous, for especially its
weather. The places had its own essence. I often get the visions of my early childhood days,
cycling thorough the woods, biking up the mountains and the getting grounded at home. The
winters were the best times. The springs would get frozen, and the river would get frozen, and all
our days, we used to spend by skating on the ice. Those were the best of the times that I had in
my entire life. Another beautiful thing about the pace was that, all of us had a similar
background, well at least that was the scenario in my locality, that is, the Scheuvront Drive. Most
of us were even in the same school, and there was immense unity amongst all of us. However, it
is the same in the Clearview Drive as well, in Denver, where I stay now. I had moved to this
place, almost 43 or 44 years back, around 1976 or 1977, for work, and spent the entire life here.
This city, has also given me a lot of things.
Choosing between Denver and Boulder:
Well, I have asked myself the same question, that if someday I have to choose between these two
cities, then which one I will vote for, because both the cities have given me my best days., best
experiences, and in both these cities I got to meet two beautiful people. In Boulder, it was my

parents, the two pillars of my life, and this city has given me my wife and my daughter, for
whom I live. In one city, I had grown up, and sent one of the best days and most fun days of my
life, and in the other, I have grown mu to become a man, with many bitter and sweet experiences.
I have learnt about the values and have learnt what life is. Also, Denver has made all my dreams
and wishes to become true. It is true that Boulder had made me dream but Denver has made me
to be become able and achieve all that. Also, Denver has more opportunities, and the life that I
have lived or living here, is the life I chose and made, in Boulder, it was the life I was given. So
therefore, between the two cities, it is Denver I will vote for.
Family History:
I had a very small family. I used to stay with my parents in Scheuvront Drive, and my
grandparents of both the sides used to stay in the same place. I lost my father’s father at an age
when I was quite young, so a little rapport could be made between us, but with my other grand
dad, I had a pretty close relation. We had spent a lot of time together. I remember that some days
he used to pock me up from my school along with my bike and we used to go for a Viking
through the woods together. He was a young fellow at heart, and though he never could match
my speed but would always accompany me. He was a man to learn from, and I lost him when I
was 25. The incident shook me. I was never much closed to any of my grandmothers, although,
my mother’s mother could cook exceptionally well and since I had a little knack in that area, so I
learnt cooking from her. I can cook really well, and my daughter prefers my cooking more than
her mother’s, and my wife is still very jealous of this. The next person I was close to was my
mother, she had cancer, and I lost her at an age, where I had expected it the least. The only thing
that I regret is that she never saw Isabella, my daughter, and she had always hoped that I would

have a daughter only someday, so we named our daughter after my mother’s name. cancer had
never been in our family; it was a great shock to us when she got diagnosed with Leukemia.
How Successful is this ageing?
Well, according to me, my ageing is very successful and I have no complaints. Well I had always
thought that maybe, one day down the line when I will get older, I may not like it, but honestly, I
actually love it, being old. I remember, during my transition phase, when I was turning 40, I was
extremely scared, I thought that, this the end, my life has stopped, and there is nothing left, but
life had become even more exciting. I guess the whole point of living is experiencing all the arts
of life, doing everything at the time, when it’s needed to be done and having no regrets. I do not
have any regrets in my life. There was a time when I could not wait to go out and play with my
friends, then came a time when could not wait to get back and play with my little daughter, and
now I cannot wait to go home and play with my little grandson. I guess this is life and getting
aged, and I am loving it still.
Ongoing and Past Health Condition:
Well, other than the back pain and the pain in the knees, I do not have serious medical condition.
How he sees young people as opposed to when they were young:
Well, I love today’s generation, and envy them to some extent, as they are getting so many
options and so many fun things to do, which we never had. Also, I respect them, because their
life has become so fast, and they have very little time, but a lot of things to do. They are
exploring more. They are very brave and very hard working, so I respect them a lot, but yes, they

are doing things on their own way. There can be no comparison with our time and their time. The
time has changed, but yes, we were never so serious about all the things, even regarding the little
ones, maybe they should try to become a little like that.
Learning from the interview:
The interview had taught me a lot of things. Firstly, I loved the way he looked at life.
Acknowledging and accepting life, as it is, and having no fear for the days further, that is also a
definition of being brave. However, more importantly, the person is very generous and
acknowledging, and is very lively. From his account, it is very clear that he has enjoyed all the
moments of life, he has lived all the phases of life, and has embraced the life the way it had
occurred to him. Lastly, another important teaching that I have got from him is, having no regrets
in life. I will definitely remember and practice all the teachings that I got.
