For the instructor assigned article this week, what research approach (basic vs. applied)
is used in the study?
Answer – In the following article, deductive approach have been applied in the order
complete the research (Creswell & Poth, 2017).
What is the specific type of the research method, qualitative or quantitative? Why do
you think the author(s) choose this method? What is the specific research design for
this study? Give a rationale for why you think the author(s) chose this design.
Answer – The particular kind of research method that have been used in the research is
quantitative.
The author choose this method as for self-efficiency and stress, survey data would be
required for gathering information from participants
Research design that have been used by the author is cross sectional.
As cross sectional design does not involve manipulating with variables, it was chosen
by the author.
What other type of research design could be used for a study about this topic? Why
would you choose to study the topic this way?
Answer – Other type of design that could be used in the research would be descriptive design
method (Sekaran & Bougie, 2016). With the help of the method, it would be easy for identify
the issue and also able ot find the cause of the issue.

Reflection on Olga Lyba
As Lyba have claimed to be using longitudinal design in the research, it would be
more difficult to complete the design on time.
Reflection on Tammy Mettler
The quasi-experimental design would be hard for the research as it would require
more time and would make more variables unpredictable.
