Gaol 1: To improve my skills to become psychotherapist
The first goal is related to the professional ambition of becoming a psychotherapist. In order to
become psychotherapist individuals need to develop specific set of skills and capabilities end
game accurate academic as well as professional credentials to work in a reputed health or social
care organization (Norcross and Lambert, 2019). This goal will be achieved by expanding role as
a support worker in the organization which offers current employment care and support staff
limited. Expanding responsibilities will help in development of knowledge about psychotherapy
and psychology and its practical implementation and healthcare organizations and the ways in
which professionals provide patient support to work on their mental health issues.
Goal 2: To improve interpersonal skills and strengthen relationship with patients
The second goal focuses on improving interpersonal skills to strengthen relationship with
patients. The current profession off a support worker has the main responsibility of looking after
the wellbeing of people in their daily lives and providing physical as well emotional support to
healthcare users. It is important to the profession of a support worker that individuals are able to
build strong relationship with the healthcare users so that they are able to understand their
emotional and physical needs and provide assistance according to the individual needs of the
user.
Goal 3: To improve psychotherapist credentials by completing online certification courses
on developmental, practical and clinical psychology
The final goal is a simple work related action which will help in improvement of credentials
needed to become a psychotherapist. There are wide number of online courses available which
can be used by individuals to learn new skills (Singh and Thurman, 2019). Online courses from
reputed institutions will be completed on the topic of developmental practical and clinical
psychology so that related certificates can be attained and proof of capabilities can be expanded
in context of psychotherapy.
Reflection on personal strengths
My primary strengths are my communication motivation problem solving and listening skills. In
addition to this I am easily able to work with individuals from different cultures and provide care
to others with empathy. The main action I will take for improving mine communication

motivation and listening skills is to learn about different communication motivation and listening
theories so that I am able to improve my techniques of communication motivation and listening
in a professional setting. The easiest way of developing problem solving skills is to learn about
reasoning and critical thinking (Durmaz, Serin and Polat, 2018). I will develop my emotional
intelligence by learning more about different cultures and people so that I am able to become
culturally sensitive.
Reflection on Personal Weaknesses
My main weakness is being too empathetic and obsessing over being a perfectionist. These
weaknesses can come in the way off effectively delivering high quality psychotherapy service. I
will work on improving my weakness of being a perfectionist by adopting mindfulness practices
and learning that certain things are not under my control through mindfulness. I will improve on
my weakness of being too empathetic by practicing self-discipline and self-control over one’s
emotions so that I remain professional in my future career.
CONCLUSION
From the other report it is determined that the main skills which will help in attainment of career
goals are problem solving communication and motivation. These trends will be improved by
expanding theoretical knowledge while problems solving skill will be enhanced by learning more
about reasoning and critical thinking, In addition to this the main weakness will be eliminated
through self-discipline and mindfulness. The career goals focusing on becoming a
psychotherapist will be completed by expanding current work goals earning professional
credentials and improving relations with patients
