Discussion Board Post
AI Summary
This discussion post examines sex differences in competition and conflict, noting that men and women react differently in competitive situations, with women often performing worse when competing against men. Research indicates that women are generally less competitive than men, a difference that emerges in childhood. Intrasexual selection, where same-sex members compete for mates, also contributes to these differences, particularly in sports where men's greater strength gives them a competitive advantage. This can lead to conflict and jealousy. Furthermore, females' greater parental investment influences their behavior in sexual competition, potentially creating negative competitive benefits compared to men. The discussion references studies on parental investment theory, voting behavior, and gender dynamics in sports to support its analysis.

Sexual competition/conflict
Men and women react differently in the competition where women tend to perform worse
than men. It can especially occur when there is competition against a man (Martínková, (2020)).
Research suggests that women are less competitive than men where gender difference appears in
childhood which can be evidenced during their playing activity where girls and boys have
different preferences. This creates a gender difference during the competition from childhood.
The gender gap also shows during the competition with win different sports activities like
long jump, swimming and many others. It also create differences in running performance, games,
swimming and various speed skills where women have less competitive than men (Bakolas &
Park, (2022)). Intrasexual selection may competition between same-sex members can over
potential mate whereas males and female forms of intrasexual competition.
During a sports activity where males are more having potential than women and
competitive than women. This creates competition and high conflict behavior within both sex.
Having better strength muscles to men, it enables them to perform more effectively in
comparison to women this influences them to perform an lead role with high efficiency to
perform any task or activity which can enable them to win that competition when it is with
women (Pape, (2019)).
Sex differences in competition create a high difficulty for women to compete with men.
Due to less strength and not having the potential to perform well or better than men, it creates a
situation of conflict and jealousy. This behavior is highly effective and create competition among
both successes. This behavior exist due to better strength development among men in
comparison to women (Voronova et. al., (2020)). It also impact the performance activity which
can create difficulty for women to get comparison and competition with women. It also creates
high impact on performing various activities which also impact the behavioral work.
Females are having more parental investment than male because they produce eggs which is
prior to mating. Due to proper caring and taking care of all the things, it create a parental
investment for in comparison to male. This create also difficulty in sexual competition and
produce negative competitive benefit then men. It also amplifies the behavior of female where
they interact with male in comparison to performing various activity performances and other
sports activity (Bauer, (2020)).
