have posed to be a major issue within the country. The season for the hurricanes is approaching
and the government would be organizing various events to promote the preparedness for
hurricanes.
The major consequences that result from the occurrences of hurricanes refer to the heavy
rains, storm surges as well as the occurrences of tornadoes. The heavy rains within the area often
lead to the floods thereby leading to the loss of the human lives as well as the stagnation of the
lives at the concerned area. The other impact of the occurrences of the hurricanes refer to those
that occur due to the tornadoes that follow (Smith, Banik and Haque 2018). The collective result
of the storms, high winds, floods and the tornadoes are often observed to have been affecting the
daily life of the concerned residents who have been living in the area.
The people who have been under the radar of the hurricanes might be advised to keep an
ear for the various updates and the emergency messages that are broadcasted over the radio and
the television. The people living in the areas that are prone to the hurricane occurrences should
always remain prepared for the disaster with the basic amenities that would assist their survival
for a minimum period of three days (Cahyanto and Pennington-Gray 2015). The people are
further advised to maintain contact with the other members of their family during the time when
the calamity has struck the area. The people of the area are advised to take care of the issues that
are presented by the situations of the calamity within the concerned areas.
The people of the area might be advised to listen to the various podcasts on the survival
strategies that are presented by the governmental bodies as well as the other non-governmental

organizations that have been dealing with the disaster management. The people might also be
advised to implement the measures that are suggested by the other experts dealing in disaster

order to deal with the conditions that might arise at times of the natural calamities. The people
might also be advised to follows the preventive measures and first aid applications after the
calamity has struck. This helps the people in the development of their personal safety as well as
the safety of the people who have been living around them (Cahyanto et al. 2016). The presence
of mind also helps in the development of the solutions to the issues raised by the hurricanes.
The government is known to have enlisted various measures that it would be practicing in
order to prevent the huge amount of destruction that follows a hurricane. The sources have also
revealed the fact that the government would implement the disaster management plans in case
there is any emergency that is presented during the upcoming hurricane season.
