INTRODUCTION
Public health policy is the policy which is concerned with public health and for
development which includes implementation and advancement in public health law, volunteer
practices, regulations. This can influence organizational change system development and
individual behaviour for promoting improvement within health. This is the one which have the
role for providing rules and regulation regarding health concern to everyone. In this report three
is discussion about potential group who can influence public health policy. There is discussion
about the way through which government can monitor nation. There is also discussion about
potential benefits for improving health population. There is a discussion about approaches for
increasing public awareness and health promotion campaign (Adekola, (2019)).
MAIN BODY
Potential group influencing public health policy
Potential groups can influence public health policy. They are the one who have the
potential to create change and divert public health policy which are going to be discussed further.
Government and government agencies- Government and government Agencies are
having the potential to influence the public health policy. They are the one who have the power
to make changes in public health policy. For example- government can create new law which can
provide fund to health education and promotion for working in different aspect of Public Health.
They are the one who can amendment in public health policy and able to change or make new
public health policy. This is legal and due to having eligibility and power they can influence the
public health policy.
Pressure groups- They are the people of organization who believe the same cause. They
are the one who have strongly held views and having the ways for influence in aspect of society.
They are a group of people who are working together and have more potential than an individual.
They are the one who are having the right to criticize Government and holding meetings. They
are also having the right to protest and making their views using media. Some of the example are
pressure group which created influence on public health policy (Cairney, (2018)). They are
Oxfam, friends of the earth, Greenpeace etc. They are the one who use variety of ways to apply
force on government and influence to change the public health policy. There are some ways
through which they create pressure on government. By using media like newspaper, video,

footage and magazines, online article etc. are used to criticize government and to make closer on
them. Organizing petition is another way to make pressure on government to change or influence
the public health policy.
International Group UN and WHO- They are the World Health Organization which is
the International agency of United Nation. They are having the authority to change in public
health policy which is by collecting information related with health and the cause of illness and
make the policy accordingly. They are the one who have the power to advise government and
forced them to change or influence the policy. National group are also able to collect information
and influence in public health policy. This can help in analyse the policy and collect enough
information which need to create a change in public health policy. They are the one who have the
authority to influence public health policy (Saltman, (2020)).
Government monitoring health of nation and factors affecting health in the population
There is need to monitor the health of nation by government through which government
use different ways for monitoring the health of nation. Health monitoring is regular based on
collection of data regarding health. This is the one can provide information and monitoring about
the Public Health. Reporting is one of the best tool which can provide the information and

of nation (Yoon, (2018)).
There are different factor which can impact the health of the population which are going
to be discussed further.
Early childhood development is one of the factor which can impact health of the population.
Quality of education also provide any person information related with health care that

Improving health in the population can reduce health disparities and lead to provide a
healthy nation. This also increased healthy behaviour of people which lead to create high
productivity for the nation. When health of population is good then nation can create a high
productivity within the organization and can have a healthy nation. This create happiness and
prosperity for this. Nation and can lead to create a better benefit and helps in reducing the cost
which generally spend on healthcare for treatment and care. This can impact the population and
create longer living and standard of life. There are different benefit for improvement in health
which direct impact the individual health and their quality of life (Chao, (2018)).
There is use of two different model for Health Promotion and disease prevention program
which are generally used in the health promotion which are going to be discussed further.
The health belief model- This is a theoretical model which can be used for guiding health
promotion along with disease prevention program. This is the one which can explain the health
change in health behaviour of individual. This model is highly used to determine and
understanding about health behaviour. Health belief model focuses on beliefs of individual
related with health condition. This can predicting individual health related behaviour. This also
influence behaviour of thread to sickness or disease potential, positive belief of action, perceived
benefits, self-efficacy etc.
Social cognitive theory- This is the theory which can describe individual experience and
the action of others. This is also able to provide the information related with environmental
factor which have influence over individual health behaviour. Social cognitive theory can

observational learning along with other reinforcements to get behavioral change.
There are some key component of social cognitive theory which are related with
individual change in behaviour (Vraga, (2018)).
Self efficacy- This is the one which is related with belief about an individual related with
controlling and executive behaviour.
Expectations- This is the one which in forces determine of outcome related with
behaviour change.
Expectancies- This is the one which assign value related with behaviour change outcome.
Behavioral capability- This includes skill which should be understand for performing
behaviour.
Self control- This is the one which is regarding monitoring and regulating individual's
behaviour.
Observational learning- This is the one in which watching and observation is done for
describing behaviour.
Reinforcement- This is the one which promote a reward on incentives for increasing
behavioral change.
Approaches used to increase public awareness
There are some approaches which are generally used in increasing public awareness.
There are some of the approaches which are going to be discussed further.
Posting press conference- This is the one which is highly able to create an awareness for
increasing public awareness as an approach. This is the one which has large number of
population get awareness by press conference (McClellan, (2017)).
Throwing an event- To create an awareness throwing an event is an approach which Can
attract people. This is the one in which there is a need to create and awareness related with event
which can attract large population. When the event is thrown, different people came in this event
and create awareness. Due to publicity and covering event program by media can lead to create a
high level of awareness among public.
Use of social media- This is one of the large platform which can create awareness
regarding public health. A large population uses social media which can directly get the
awareness about public health.

Increase knowledge- This can provide better information and creativity for creating
awareness related with health.
Motivation is needed for effective healthcare promotion. This can lead to focus on

can lead to attract large social media user (Steen, (2019)).
