In my basic professional training, I was very well prepared for the core competencies of the
public health. These competencies included providing the patient- centred care, employing the
evidence based practices, utilizing the informatics, working in the interdisciplinary teams as well
as applying the improvement of the quality. I have focused on all these competencies while my
basic professional training was going on. These are very important concepts required to be
integrated within the professional practices in order to deliver the bet services to the patients
(Bianchi, et. al., 2016).
There are several suggestions that can be made in order to make improvements in the education
in this profession. It is highly required to teach the skills to the professionals rather than teaching
them the facts. They are required practical knowledge and a lot of practice as they will require
dealing with the life of the patients. There must also be promoted the clinical or the lab work of
the students more than the academic research. By doing so, the improvement in the education
can be made.
