Discussion Topic 1: ICT for Public Health Informatics
1. Describe the use of ICT within the public health project.
Telemedicine is one of the most important and successful public health projects in Australia. It
made a huge success in the past few years. This brings revolution in the health care industry, and
ICT helps this project to bring this innovation as well. In my opinion, it helps to provide the
customers with better effective services. ICT help to improve the quality of the services of
Telemedicine as well. I believe that with the uses of ICT, it helps to make the communications
better between patients and consultants as well. Medical centres also improve their services with
the help of ICT (Shrader, et. al., 2016).
2. Who is the audience?
The audience will be the most important part of any discussion because according to me, it is
really important that the effective audience should be there to listen and analysis because the
audience is the most effective analyst. The audience will be the users of healthcare services,
employees, patients, service providers, technicians as well.
3. Why was the particular ICT used?
I believe that effective communication is the biggest requirement of this project because the
consultation has to be done through the tools of communication which will make it more
required that the effective information and communication technology must be used in
Telemedicine. In my opinion, ICT will be helpful to the project to the consulate with the patients
without interrupting, less expensive and faster as well.
4. Has there been any evaluation of its effectiveness? Please comment on this.
I think there are some huge impacts on the services of Telemedicine, using ICT as well. the very
thing which I noticed is that it makes access to information very easy, smooth and quick as well.

The connectivity is getting better by each passing day, which is the most important requirement
of Telemedicine, especially in rural areas of the country. Development of new tools and
techniques has been getting better as well (Chen, et. al., 2015).

Discussion Topic 2: HICT Competencies for Public Health Informatics
What are the different competencies required for public health informatics as opposed to
health informatics? What impact do you think the difference would make on the way that
ICTs can be used?
Public health informatics and health informatics do not have much difference, but there are some
things required to manage public health informatics as well. The public health informatics has
been developing in the past few years, and the growth is quite high as well. the most important
requirement is about developed health care facilities. Besides this, one more important thing is
about developed infrastructure is the second biggest requirement when it comes to developed
public health informatics and it would be required for the using ICT in the public health
informatics. Fewer fluctuations in the economy are required to develop better health care
facilities in the country so good, stable economy to develop effective health informatics in the
country and it will be helpful to develop ICT in the health care as well. every country has its
issues and up-downs at the economy which will go to make a huge impact on every possible
industry because growth is directly related to the economic growth of the country (Ravi, et. al.,
2016). Health care industry also got affected very easily with the influences in the economy and
politically because the rules & regulations have been decided by the political power of the
country and if the rules and things have been changing fast, it will create complications while
setting up effective public health informatics and ICT in context of health care industry as well.
budget is the one more important part of the public health informatics, and effective planning is
really important to adopt ICT in health care of the country as well. ICT is a very effective tool
for effective communication with the patients and employees, which helps to increase
productivity and revenue generation of the industry so far (Mather, 2016).

Discussion Topic 1: Global Strategy for ICT
What are the main challenges for the governance of global eHealth strategies? Please
discuss, referring to the Learning Resources for this module and any experience that you
have in this area.
In my opinion, global e-health strategies are a huge part of the health care system, and these
strategies will be an important and useful part of completing any health care project successfully.
In my belief, co-ordination is the biggest challenge for the governance of global e-health
strategies. In my opinion, co-ordination is must required things to complete the tasks in more co-
ordinate and organized way as well. Besides coordination, infrastructure should be up to date and
according to the new advancements as well. If the infrastructure is well developed., it will be
helpful to the health care companies to work effectively and take better decisions while not only
making but also implementing the global strategies for using ICT. Globally it will create much
more problems for managing the strategies because the resources, requirements and other things
have been different according to every country which impacted the strategies of global e-health
programs in different countries as well. I understand that every country has its own set of rules
and laws as well. Different powerful influences will create restriction over their freedom of
action (Grant & Yeo, 2018). The technology is the again, one of the biggest issues for global e-
health strategies because all the countries have some limited resources and in specifically in the
health care industry, global economic changes could create many problems as well. The climate
changes, energy, food insecurity and foreign policy would be the factors that developed many
challenges to the global e-health strategies as well. with the help of this module, I came to
understand all these challenges which have been faced while making and implementing global e-
health strategies. It made me understand the impacts of those factors which can create these
challenges in the health care industry globally so far. It helped me enhance my knowledge, as
well.

Discussion Topic 2: Sustainability and Pilotitus
The situation of ‘pilot its’ has occurred for mHealth projects: many non-government
organisations are funded for small pilot projects, and it is difficult to scale the pilot to
develop a substantial resource. Research the topic of pilotitus concerning one particular
project, and share with your colleagues your reflections on this topic. Please feel free to
draw from your own experiences.
I strongly believe mHealth projects are the required of nowadays when each hand carries a
mobile phone with them. Human lives are in control of these tiny mobile phones as well, and
humans are getting many diseases from the harmful rays which are coming out from the mobile s
because of radiations as well. For creating awareness and treating those diseases, there are many
eHealth projects has been running all around the world, and it will good if all the people get
participated actively in those projects. It is required to achieve the targets as well. I want you to
make it clearly understand that the scaling process is not an easy process for the projects,
primarily if the plans have been funded by non-government small scale organization as well. It
makes scaling of all the resources very difficult. For completing any plan, it is very required that
all the needed funds will be available, and employees and the associated people with the projects
should use those resources effectively. It will be necessary to costs reduction as well. In my
experiences, those projects required big budgets and often funding will be from different small
and large companies but when it comes to scale measure and evaluate the project and its
resources, it will make it difficult. mHealth projects are running for spreading awareness about
the harmful impacts of using mobile phones, and if the project running companies are not able to
scale the project and their performances, it will be difficult for the companies to understand the
project performances as well (Grant & Yeo, 2018).
