1. Introduction
A communication plan can be referred to as a significant policy driven approach that helps to
provide significant information. Organizational stakeholders gain this type of information and hence
proper information is required to be delivered and which communication channels are required for
delivering that specific information [4]. An effective communication plan can anticipate on the type
of information that is required to be communicated to the specified audience segments. The
following report outlines a brief discussion on the communication plan for the case study of
Improving Public Health Informatics. The County Health Department or CHD has made a strategic
plan for specifying their incrementing capacities of program evaluation and response to major
communicable disease outbreaks [2]. For ensuring success they have made a communication plan
and this report discusses about the major effectiveness of this particular project.
2. Discussion
2.1 Assessment of the Current Project Communication Plan
The current project communication of the County Health Department is extremely effective
as it is referring to the various aspects of advantages that an integrated public health informatics
systems would be providing to the organization [6]. The project communication plan will be playing
an important and significant role in change management and an efficient communication strategy
could even help to break down resistance for changing by integrating all the patients’ confidential
data and information into one and not involving several information systems [7]. This is extremely
vital for engaging and endorsing the requirement of change as well as steps undertaken for bringing
the changes. The various strategies and objective of the integrated public health informatics are
included for setting clear and cohesive goals that are required to be attained. A proper process to
execute the process is also included in this particular communication plan. After following a
collaborative process, the project team is able to engage project stakeholders and hence
management of this particular system is possible without much complexity [2]. The requirements of
this particular project are well described to the stakeholders and thus implementation of business
rules would be much easier in comparison to other projects.
2.2 Comparing the Assessment with Sound Project Management Practices
The communication plan of this project can be compared with few project management
practices. Project management practices refer to the practices that are required for initiation,
planning, execution, controlling and finally closing of a team work for achievement of project
management and hence producing a complete project that strongly complies with every objective of
the respective client [8]. After assessing the current project communication plan of the County

communication plan that is made by the project manager is proper and will not bring any issue to
the project that is to be executed. The core values of this project include providing accurate data
from one integrated information system [1]. According to project management practices, it is

the pros and cons of information system. The timing issues are also reduced and are made as per
project schedule. He has not only included all stakeholders, but also has described specific
communications as well as communication methods. Key messages are also shared with every
stakeholder so that they are able to understand the major requirements in an effective manner [5].

2.3 Recommendation of a Communication Plan for Future Project after Involvement of
Stakeholders from Different Sectors
A recommendation of a communication plan for future project after involving several
stakeholders from different sectors would be that since the current communication plan is
extremely complex and big, it is highly needed to reduce the complexity to a major level. Similarly,
the communication should be detailed so that every team member is able to understand the project
effectively and efficiently. Instead of a huge communication plan, informal communication is also
effective [3]. This kind of informal communication helps to reduce the complexity of larger
communication plan of this particular project of integrated public health informatics system in CHD.
Moreover, due to the informal communication system, several stakeholders would be able to discuss
their ideas and ideologies with the organizational members effectively and lack of communication
will not be an issue for stakeholders from different sectors [8].
2.4 Justification of Recommendation
The above stated recommendation would be extremely effective for the project of
integrated public health informatics system [6]. The main reason behind this efficiency is that
continuous information could be provided to these stakeholders regarding project status.
Furthermore, large and complex communication plans take huge time to be made and even to get
implemented. With the help of informal communication, information can be easily interpreted and
the employees will take up the explanation of informal system [1]. Efficiency will be improved and
flexibility will be maintained within the organization of the County Health Department. Moreover,
due to the rapid communication process, it does not consume huge time, unlike present
communication plan of this particular organization and this specific project of integrated public
health informatics system. Collaboration and cooperation would also be more as the other
stakeholders would be able communicate amongst one another directly and hence chance of

grievance would be extremely lesser in comparison to the present communication plan [7]. Informal
communication is extremely simple and thus communication would be quite better.
3. Conclusion
Therefore, from the above discussion, it can be concluded that the communication plan of
County Health Department is perfect and it can increase the capacities for program evaluation. The
integrated public health informatics system can easily detect the infectious diseases and possible
future outbreaks can be done within a timely manner. Moreover, correct decisions can be
undertaken by involvement of this particular system. A collaborative process is being followed for
this purpose and appropriate correspondence within all stakeholders in a project is ensured
eventually. The above report has clearly demonstrated about effectiveness of communication plan in
County Health Department with relevant details.
