In public 2019 priorities article, improvement of the economy, great recession, terrorist attacks,
domestic issues of the reduction of health care costs, improvement of the educational system,
social security, medicinal systems, strengthening military, partisan division, parties ideological
directions, favorability ratings of democratic and republic parties are the social problems which
are being addressed.
2. What does the data suggest?
The data in the article recommends as per public priority economic and healthcare issues should
be prioritized. Furthermore, improving the educational organization and taking strict action
against terrorism is now position among the top level of priorities. The report highlights an
interesting viewpoint of population which states that reducing the deficit should not be a major
concern for President and Congress whereas people in year 2013 around 72% of the total
population residing in United States were concerned about reducing the deficit.
Majority people now states there is a great deal of difference between democratic and republican
parties more than half which is 54% of total population believes that there is big difference in the
agendas of both the parties.
3. What are your suggestions for rectifying this social problem?
In order to reduce the evils like terrorism, government should focus on strengthening the abilities
of military. Moreover, more strictness and security checks for the immigrant population. The
major problems like poverty and crime can be eliminated from society only when people are
financially stable. Unstable financial conditions give birth to severe crimes like honor killing,
bomb blasts, drug smuggling, gang violence and, kidnapping. Therefore, government should
focus on improving the conditions of global trade which will help in up surging wealth of nation.
4. Are mental health care and gun control mutually exclusive?
Yes, mental health care and gun control are mutually exclusive as the people suffering from
mental illness are not always shooters. It is not wrong to say that gun control can reduce the
number of people killed in a year but it has no relation with mental health. Mental illness occurs
due to economic downturns.
