1. Introduction
After completing my higher studies I want to see myself as a leading manager of an international company and
so I want to learn about public relationa; for this purpose, I have conducted research. I have chosen my career in
the public relations domain because this will help me to interact with the public to raise my knowledge and
skills. I am focusing on this domain because it helps an organization to raise its reputation; instead of posting
advertisement they mainly focus on the requirements of their customers. However, I have faced some
difficulties while doing this research as some people are not interested in the survey and interview. There is
much staff of the company who have not attended the session due to lack of time. In addition, I have completed
this research by consulting with other international companies and their customers to gain knowledge in this
domain.
2. Career and industry trends in your chosen career/role/job description
In the modern era, it has been observed that international public relation has gained so much popularity as it
helps to establish a beneficial relationship with the residents of another country to gain more productivity. As
commented by Coleman (2018), the PR domain is trendy in the national region because it helps to increase sales
and gain more potential customers. Local trends are also based on public relation because it helps to maintain
and regulate the departments of an organization. It has to increase potential growth by enhancing its reputation
and leads.
Public relation companies have grown 40% since last five years and more than 80% journalist believes that all
the residents of the country trust them. About 60 percent PR managers have started believing that marketing
influencers are important to increase profits (Sherwood & O’Donnell, 2018).
Public relation career path comprises of various steps through which one can gain public speaking and
communication skills. As per the views of Jefkins (2018), the course of PR will consist of history of print
media, electronic media along with human rights and psychology. This course will cost $100 to $400 per annum
and if some candidate wants to take education loan this facility is establish by the government for the bright
future of students. It is important to develop work experiences and communication skills for developing career
in this domain.
Public relation domain is growing on a large scale and it has increased the competition; thus, this career has the
potential to build communication skills. As stated by Botan (2015), through learning the skills of PR one can
easily gain profitability and earn handsome money. It has been evidenced that huge number of journalist are

focusing to enter public relation section to gain better opportunities. As a new career, PR is the right option
because it offers huge number of facilities and develops the skills.
3. Occupation Skills Analysis
I have chosen the public relations domain to build my career and to perform this occupation I need to develop
my communication skills, social media knowledge, multimedia information, and effective writing ability. I need
to become multi-tasking and should develop relationship formation skills along with that honesty is the quality
aptitude a person should have in PR. As per the views of Wipulanusat et al. (2018), a person should have honest
aptitude while developing his or her career in this domain. I think that a person should have passion, dedication,
and curiosity to gain knowledge about this occupation. I need to flourish in my communication skills in order to
develop my career in this field. According to me, skills in creativity and social media is the important aptitude
one should possess and building up a relationship with the public is vital to build a career in this field. These
skills will help me in progress and can increase my potential power to interact with others.
Personal skills
According to me, for developing career in public relation I need to enhance my personal skills such as speaking,
listening and multimedia skills. It is crucial to develop the communication skills for the bright future in this
career.
Discipline specific skills
Honesty and integrity are the effective disciplinary skills which I should posses to become a manger and
develop my career in public relation domain. I believe that a loyal person can establish better relationship with
other compared to a liar.
Trans disciplinary skills
I think that thinking skill, along with social, self-managing and research skills are necessary trans disciplinary
skills to develop career in this field. PR should have creative thinking skills too motivate the staff members and
enhance the productivity of the company.
Meta-level skills
Meta-level skills comprise of proper and effective communication skills along with writing skills and to build
proper public relationships.

4. Personal Analysis
According to me, my skills sit in perfect place with reference to my career goal to become a manager; for this
purpose I need to focus on public relation guidelines. As stated by Mockler (2018), a person should have
quality listening, speaking, creative skills to interact with other people. I am a tech savvy person which s
necessary in this domain.
My current skills and experience are tech savvy, reading and writing creative thoughts, hard worker and friendly
behaviour. However, my occupation’s skills and experience is slightly different compared to my current skills. I
need to learn multimedia researching and communication process and the method to build relationship with
other companies and their customers.
To accomplish my target I need to develop my aptitude and skills such as integrity, communication skills,
building relation with others quickly and researching skills. I believe that my learning these skills I can easily
improve and develop my career and it will open door for many job opportunities.
Personal skills
I need to develop the management and leadership skills along with presentation and communications kills on a
large scale. In addition it is important to develop relationship managing skills in order to interact with the clients
globally.
Discipline specific skills
I need to become good listener and speaker to motivate my team and to establish quality working culture. I need
to develop policies in order to maintain punctuality as well as discipline in the organization.
Transdisciplinary skills
In order to develop my career in PR domain I need to develop my social skills along with self-regulating skills
and research skills. It is important for me to develop my analysis and synthesis skills in order to resolve the
conflicts and develop a healthy life style for the company.
Meta-level skills
According to me, Meta level skills are necessary to develop my communication skills so that I can speak
instantly in any circumstance without preparation.

5. Detailed plan and career building strategies
When my semester was going to end I planned to grow and develop my career in public relations and for this
purpose I started to develop my skills. As commented by Pitman et al. (2019), for that occupation an individual
needs to become a tech-savvy and creative person and most importantly he or she should have communication
skills. By interacting with my friends and using social media I started communicating with foreign friends to
improve my communication skills in a cedarn new culture when I was in the university.
According to me, to create a career portfolio it is crucial to write the truth and original information. In order to
create a portfolio, I need to gather the testimonials and it should be simple and easier for navigation. I think that
a portfolio should consist of an original statement and work philosophy that is an overall description of my past
and present experiences. In this portfolio, the career goals along with skill areas and the link of a resume should
be present.
I plan to become a leading manager of international companies and to gain knowledge of the public relations
domain and apply for a PR course.
Due to my busy study schedule, I have constructed a few professional online profiles on LinkedIn and
Facebook. The main motive behind this page is to interact with my friends who live in another country and
these sites have helped me to increase my communication skills and writing skills.
According to me, I can be joining the PR service communities and college group community in order to learn
new skills and aptitude.
Behind this career option I can gain huge volunteer options such as I can build my speaking and communication
skills my meeting with new peoples.
This will open the door for new opportunities such as I can gain huge job offers by learning research processes,
multimedia, creative writing skills and other communicating and thinking skills. This will help me to gain
experience in the field of marketing and through this, I can posse quality leadership skills.
Apart from the courses of QUT, another site named Linda.com is associated with LinkedIn and offer a huge
number of courses; such as FB advertising, project management, data science, business and many more.
