READING ANALYSIS 2
Summary of the reading and reflection in the analysis
In my point of view, the article by Samsup Job involved the analysis of the Public
Relations according to News Media. I think he published the article in the year through the
school mass communication at Texas University. It is my suggestion that the article is based on
the study of meaning and connotation concerning public relations in news extracts majorly found
in news media such as televisions and newspapers. I think in this article, Samsup Job carried out
a study that he suggested that public relations were once used to donate building of image,
persuasion efforts and reputation management. I have found that in his research, he found that
the interpretation of the news of the public relations was supported by the image, publicity,
marketing of the public relations and persuasion campaigns.
In my point of view, the article suggests that the above-mentioned attributes prevailed in
the stories of the journalists as part of their public relations practices. He mentioned that public
practitioners need to understand the stories of their clients because if they do not, journalists
would be there to perceive the news. In my opinion, this article suggested that a two-way form of
communication should be emphasized beginning with the media relations than through
understanding the journalists’ perspective. I see the author of the article states that it has been an
uneasy alliance between the public practitioners and the journalists. Public relations is said to
have been criticized by journalists. Based on what I read from this article, some scholars define
it but the media professional seem to criticize the public relations regardless of the definitions
provided by the scholars. I think news media is not willing the definition of public relations
regardless of the person or society that portrays its meaning. The public relation is considered a
neutral meaning of the persuasion (Jo, 2003).

READING ANALYSIS 3
I think the article is interested to bring the image of how public relations are used in the
newspapers as well as in television stories. I have understood from the reading that ordinary
people consider public relations as socialization, learning or education-based term. I think all
these perspectives are reflected in the idea of both personal experience and mass communication.
I think the findings in this reading mean that negative perspectives about public relations are
catalyzed by the news media. I think the idea in this reading is to suggest that the public media is
supported by media. I believe this kind of true because public relations depends on news media
for publications of some aspects such as public relations challenges, disasters, and obstacle.
Public relations are part of the news in the news media because journalists try to take that
opportunity to write stories about public relations organizations. The reading suggests that some
sources urge that public relations are more negative and unfavorable to anyone (Jo, 2003). I do
not think this is true because it depends on the taste of an individual or organization. Some
individuals would feel nice with the information provided by public relations than by news
media. In my opinion, this article suggested that collabotative communication should be
emphasized between the public relations and journalits.
