Reflective essay:
Each part of the assignment demanded different thought processes. I had to read several
newspapers to get to know the correct format of a newsletter article. For the speech writing part,
I had to listen through numerous speeches given by famous people around the world to get a
hang of the correct way to approach the audience with the purpose I had in mind. The blog
writing did not take much of a trouble since I was already accustomed to blog writing from
previous works. Radio announcement was the part of the work that I enjoyed the most while
writing it. Each portion of the task required a 30 minute of draft planning before I could jot down
the final result. The PR writer’s checklist was helpful in clearing out my queries and it proved to
be of a lot of help when I was writing the final draft for the project.
The first part of the assignment was written with a social approach and I was careful to
write it in a way that the employees of the WeKarre would understand the importance of the
social media guidelines. I was careful enough to emphasize on the fact that they understand how
important it is in order to maintain the ethics and value of the company. It was an approach that
was put together systematically. The second part helped me to address the problems that young
carers face in the country and how they need to be recognized by the government. The two parts
after this were easy enough to write quickly since blog writing and announcement writing
required much less research than the others and had a casual approach. This assignment helped
me gain an idea of different formats of writing.
The speech, among all the pieces of folio was challenging since it was important to
structure the speech in a way that would be appealing to the audience as well as they get the
purpose of the whole speech. It was problematic to make the speech both entertaining as well as

knowledgeable. It was important for the speech to be grave in tone and formal in deliverance
since it depicted the problems that carers face in their everyday lives and not some joke. The
scope of interacting with the audience was less since it was made up of facts and figures that had
to be delivered point blank. The questions that were asked by the speaker were rhetorical in
nature.
It was the radio communication announcement that was most enjoyable to write for the
scope that it presented to show my creativity in lesser words. It was formal in its approach but I
had no such problem in writing it since listening to radios and advertisements is something I
have frequently done. Community announcement is a great way of targeting masses and also
various agencies of similar job profiles. I enjoyed portraying my point of views on the topic in an
advertising way which is not something that I get to do very often.
