INTRODUCTION
Project management introduces as an effective practices of initiating, planning, doing,
controlling and ending the work of a team to accomplish specific objectives and meet particular
success criteria at the specified time period. This project is based on the case scenario 2 which is
mainly related with the recreation of mobile phone app (Al-Hunaiyyan, Alhajri and Al-Sharhan,
2016). This app will give day by day details of QAHE clubs and societies’ events, links to
contact details and the freedom for students to publicise their own events. This project is based
on different tasks which includes PID and stakeholder analysis, WBS, risk register and Short
report. These are main aspects which will be beneficial for project manager in completion of
each activities of project in systematic manner.

A) Sample project Initiation document
Project Initiation document is important document that defines the project management,
scope and overall success criteria that the project team can go back to during the project. This
project is based on recreating of mobile phone app that helps QAHE clubs and societies by
connecting number of students to publishes their own events. Project initiation is a document that
includes useful information regarding the various attributes that turn to support project manager
in completion of project successfully (Palos-Sanchez, Saura and Debasa, 2018).

phone app (Martinez and Lecomte, 2017).
Quality TQM and JIT is the approach used regarding
maintenance of overall quality. This will not
help to manage the inventory but aid in
optimum utilisation of monetary requirements.
Also, TQM help in integration of all the efforts
that ultimately contributes in production of
qualitative mobile application.
Cost The estimated cost incurred in development of
this application will be around £5000.

B) Work Breakdown Structure
Work breakdown structure introduces as a deliverable-oriented hierarchical
decomposition of the work. It is an effective framework that helps project manager to allot roles
and responsibilities to the number of stakeholders according to their experience and performance
(Flora, 2018). There are different number of tasks. All these are completed in the situation of
attaining targets. Planning is completed when able to ascertain the resources. Production is
completed when able to lunch the application.

Critical Path: It is a network diagram that depicts the path which a project manager is
needed to follow regarding the successful and timely completion of project on time. This depicts
the different paths associated with the project along with the number of days needed for their
individual completion. It is the duty of the project manager is to select the largest path and
complete the one in timely manner. This will aid in overall completion of project on time.

A) Number of risks
There are number of risk involved in development of mobile phone app for providing
opportunities to the student to publish their own event. This risks are communication risk, market
risk, resources risk, financial risk, managerial risk, technical risk, external risk, performance risk,
time and customer related risk (Pandey, Litoriya and Pandey, 2018). These are main risks that
have direct impact on project manager while completion of project in systematic and effective
manner. In order to deal with these risk, project manager wants to prepare risk register which
will be determined as below:
B) Risk Register
In the overall risk management plan, risk register forms a very significant part as it contains
all the risks that are associated with the project, identification of which helps manager in
managing the risk in an appropriate way. It contains prioritized ranking of crucial risks for
project. Risk register includes risk, probability of occurring that risk, impact of the risk, their
priority and the response plans which helps in mitigating the risk in an effective and efficient
way. This risk register can lead the project manager directly to handling of risk. In the risk
management plan, risk register helps in determining the risks and which supports proper analysis
and monitoring of project.
Risk management plan is wide in nature and includes the activities which are required to
be adhere whole one year. The role of risk register in this is main as this will aid in determining

various level of risks occurred on different time periods. The risk register not only contains the
information about risks but also have information related to the nature of risk, preventive
measure and level of impact. All these information in relation to the different time periods is
gathered and used integrally in preparation of risk management plan. This will be considered as
the main plan that will be followed by all personnels till the performance of project. The impact
of this will be ascertained in the manner of positive control over various project associated risks
along attainment of desired targets.
If project management plan is not formulated on the basis of risk register then final
actions will not be formulated. This hinders the capacity of different personnels associated with
project in performance of their functions properly with integration of other departments
objective. Finally, this will resultants into non completion of project on time or as per the
desirable standards.
This clearly depicts the importance of risk management plan over risk registers. The
different number of benefits will be gathered through formulation of risk management plan
includes completion of project on time, aligned departmental activities, desirable outcomes,
optimum utilisation of resources, qualitative in nature etc.
The limitations attached with risk register that prepared by considering different levels
and time period by different department of their own. This will help in removal of the risks
associated with their own activities. The non integration between the different risks hinders the
capacity to analyse the impact of one over the cations of other along with preventive measure for
same. So, after preparation of the risk register that particular departments and associated
personnels are not able to attained the desirable results due to the impact of others. This limits
the imaginary power of each and every department related to completion of project activities
along with providence of support each other in attainment of overall objectives.

a) Communication
Proper communication between the project manager and their team is important in
developing of mobile phone application successful. Linear Model of Communication is more
effective and useful for project manager to communicate each information about the

development of mobile phone application. This model of communication explains the one-way
communication process where project manager provide information to their staff members.
Along with this, effective commination depends on non-verbal and verbal body language that
communicate an information while depending on cues for feedback. There are different
importance of communication model including, receiving information, change in situation etc.
Therefore communication is more important in successfully developing of mobile phone
application (Villamil, Guarda and Quina, 2018).
Effective communication is very important in an organisation as it helps in conveying all
the informations in clear and transparent way. This helps in ensuring that work is performed in
an effective manner. Apart from this, it is very crucial for effective attainment of goals and
objectives of a particular project. Structured communication between manager of project and
team members helps in ensuring that all the goals associated with project are clear and all the
members of team are working towards attainment of that common goals. In context of QAHE

two ways. Firstly, it enables manager to organise and remember ideas and secondly, it makes it
easy for listener to stay focused and follow. It also helps in negotiation and can foster good

Communication Accommodation is defined as the theory of communication which
focuses on the adjustments that individuals made at the time of communicating with others. This
theory was developed by Howard Giles who stated that when individuals try to minimise or

understand because both will help in development of the ability to communicate with each other

 Convergence: This is the process which includes the adoption of the characteristics of
another person in relation to communication. The main purpose behind the adoption of

the way of improvement in characteristics and creation of better relation.

approaches of leadership. In the project of college regarding the development of mobile app,
project manager must needed to follow the qualitative leadership. approach The advantage of this
approach is it gives an effective chance to build linnet structure. In nature it is more flexible
along with favourable working environment. In addition, it support all the stakeholders that are
associated with the working of developing mobile phone app to perform the activities in effective
way in attainment of targets in predetermined manner.
b) Methodologies
There are different number of methodologies that can be used for the purpose of carrying on
work over some project. Each kind of methodology has their own different rule regarding
performance within the project (Polhul and Yarovy, 2019). Also, they attached with diversified
number of strengths and weaknesses. It is the duty of project manager is to analyse all and
identify the one which is most suitable in accordance to the nature of project. Some of the
methodologies which are generally used are named as Agile, Waterfall and Prince 2. The
analysis of all along with description of their own strengths and weaknesses is provided below:
Agile: This is an iterative approach that aid in delivering of the project throughout to its
whole life cycle properly. This includes the development of many different kind of iterations in
relation to the completion of whole project. This kind of approach is basically used for the
purpose of developing software's. This is so because this will promotes the option of velocity and
adaptability. This will provides an opportunity regarding adjustment irrespective to adhere linear
path. The main advantage associated with this that providence of benefits through out the process

instead of attaining at end. The limitation associated with this is about the time consuming
working nature of this methodology that hinder to perform work in fast manner.
Waterfall: This project management approach is different from the above one. This
bifurcate the project into different stages and work is perform for the completion of each stage
step by step. The different number of phases which are included under this methodology includes
determination of requirements, preparation of design, implementation, verification and
maintenance (Pandey, Litoriya and Pandey, 2018). The benefit associated with this technique is
help in removal of issues for formulation of project free from any kind of error. The limitation
associated with this approach is its initial planning which is based upon assumption.
Prince 2: This is one of the structured project management method. This includes the
bifurcation of projects into manageable and controllable stages. This methodology focused over
product based planning approach. This will also provides the level of flexibility to the project.
The main benefit associated with the use of this technique is easy to operate and flexible in
nature. The limitation associated with is about assumption only.
The one best method that will be use in creation of mobile application is Waterfall. This
will provides an opportunity regarding clearance all errors and issues at end level (Radicchi,
2018).
CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned report, it has been concluded that there are different aspects
which are require by project manager in order to complete project in successful manner.
Preparation of Project initiation document has a higher significance as this will support in
coverage of planning in regards to each aspect which are associated with completion of project in
successful manner. These are includes objectives, budget information, stakeholder analysis, key
staff and Timescale. Along with this, there are some methodologies including WBS, Gantt chart
and critical path, these are important for investigator by helping them in completion of project
successfully. Risk assessment plan have been developed which will be beneficial in finding of
risks associated in project along with mitigation measures. This will help project manager by
improving its overall performance.
