Task 2 – Simplified Risk Register
Risk management can be describe as a way that will helpful project manager to perform task
and activities in effective and efficient manner. This refers to the process that will lead to
identifying, analysing as well as controlling various issues and threat to project (Maylor, 2010).
There are different types of risk and issues occur while conducting activities of research project. It is
essential for researcher to control these issues and manage these risk effectively in order to perform
task in better manner. Risk management planning will help project manager to perform task in such
a manner that desired objectives could be timely achieved. While conducting this research there are
various issues occur that needs to be managed by manager of this project. In order manage
different risk, project manager have to maintain risk register.
Risk register can be describe as an effective tool that will help manager to identify and manage risk

Importance of risk register in the context of a full risk management plan:
Risk register is very important method that could be very beneficial for project manager.
This will help in identification of risk as well as timely management of business activities in effective
manner. Risk register will be able to control as well as manage issues of organisation in such as
manner that desired goals could be timely achieve.

Task 3 – WBS initial ideas
Create a short list (3-5 headings) of summary tasks that span the full lifecycle of the project
Work breakdown structure - This is an effective structure that will help project manager to classify
various complex task into small activities (Sokhanvar, Matthews and Yarlagadda, 2014). Work
breakdown structure will lead to dividing activities of large project into small parts. This will help in
managing all activities of project in effective manner. Manager of Higher Education university needs
to divide its activities into different parts.
 Establish Objective - In this manager of university needs to established clear goals
and objectives. By established objective manager will be able to set clear guidelines
for its employees.
 Market research - This element will help in conducting an effective market research.
This will aid in identify and analysing needs and wants of targeted audience as well as
development of project.
 Data Collection - There are different ways through which project manager could
collect data and information. This will help in identify and analysing appropriate data
for taking better decision for project and its development.
 Selection of suitable ideas - It is important for project manage to identify and analyse
most appropriate idea about the project. In this task manager needs to select most

Task 4a – Importance of Project Leadership
It is very essential for this university to have right and appropriate leadership as this will help
in enhancing activities of the project. Leadership play crucial role in successful conducting business
activities as well as accomplishment of set goals. Leadership will help in influencing as well as

motiving employees and team member to conduct task in better manner. Project leadership will lead
to sharing proper vision so that project manager could conduct task in effective manner. This will
help in taking better decision as well as managing all activities of project in correct manner. Project
leadership will lead to conduct an effective manner as well as performing task in successfully.
Task 4b –Methodologies
Prince 2 model:
This is developed in year 1989 through Central Computer and Telecommunication
Agency(CCTA). It is considered as a process based method which is utilised to mange the project.
Mostly, this have been utilised through UK government but also this prevalent into private sector
and also in another areas across the world. Its key characteristics concentrates upon justification of
business, explaining organisational structure for the team of project management as well as utilising
product based approach. Moreover, this model render effective control over the resources of
project as well as great at managing enterprises and risk of project in more efficient manner. So,
QAHE have opt respective model for its plan which are discussed below: Start up the project: In this, the project brief that includes business case, effective manner
to perform project and others. As in QAHE campus it have been identified that its student do
not have any knowledge that what is going into their campus so for enhancing student
involvement with extra curricular activities they plan to develop mobile phone apps that
facilitates a regular details related to QAHE clubs and societies events. Initiate the project: In this process, project scope, quality and communication management
strategies, performing risk and others are included. So, the project scope of recreation of
mobile apps are it create awareness among QAHE students and enhances their engagement
into extra curricular activities. Direct the project: This step is helpful to provide direction how this may be performed in
effective way. So, for this QAHE perform with its program management as well as review the
benefits of their post project that is recreation of mobile apps. Control stage: In this, the project manager delegate task, monitor the work, deal with
whatever problems raise and reports on their progress. So, as the QAHE plan to recreate
their mobile apps so for this they assign task to its team members and also observe that they
are going in effective way or not. Moreover, as the risk is identified that is raise at the time
of implementation of project such as shortage of funds, delay in delivery of product and
others. So, it can be resolve through showing extra budget initially and conduct a survey
related to what is the reason less student participation. Manage product delivery: This stages manages the project product delivery, controlling
work among team member as well as project manager. So, in this process QAHE
management an team manage that the project of creation of mobile apps is delivering in
effective way or not through implementing its work packages.

 Manage stage boundary: In this process, QAHE project manager facilitates the overview of
project performance, updates regarding plan, review present stage, approve next as well as
review their upgraded plans.
 Close the project: This process is all about assuring that project attained their objectives
through deadline. So, for this project manager of QAHE developed a planned closure as well
as premature closure. As recreation of mobile apps is completed so they prepare a closure
plan and accomplished that at certain time duration.
