INTRODUCTION
The development of sustainability in tourism ensures the positivity in the experience of local
people, tourists and tourism companies. There are many challenges faced by the tourism
industry to achieve sustainability of development. Thus, this research report focuses on the
sustainability in tourism development In Qatar which is a developing country having well-
established tourism. This report will focus on planning done at different levels for the
development of tourism with reference to Qatar. This assignment gives emphasis on social,
economic and environmental impact on tourism of Qatar. The research report discusses the
importance of balancing demand and supply to ensure sustainable development and also
finding methods to resolve conflicts between different stakeholders of Qatar so as to achieve
the wellbeing of the country. Later, in the report, the ethical and moral issues of enclave
tourism are also discussed. Lastly, the issues faced by one emerging and one developing
country are stated and recommendations are given to resolve those issues.

The stakeholders of the emerging country, Qatar, play a very important role in the tourism
development of the country. These stakeholders include investors, developers, management,
employees, tourists, public and private sectors, etc. Stakeholders contribute to the planning
process of tourism development for attaining the goals of sustainability. If the planning is done
and implemented effectively, it benefits the country and its stakeholders on all three aspects:
social, economic and environmental and thus, helps in achieving the sustainability in the
development of tourism.

The tourism planning is very helpful for stakeholders of Qatar. It benefits the tourists by
providing them good services and fulfilling their expectations and thus, improving the quality of
life of tourist visiting Qatar, this in turn also enhances the standards of living of local people of
Qatar, they also get the benefits which are provided to the visitors and it adds to their valuable
experience. Tourism planning also gives emphasis on the effective utilization of the natural
resources of the country, therefore, taking care of the society by minimizing the wastage of
resources. Under the efficient planning in tourism development, many job opportunities are
created for the unemployed sector of the economy and this planning also benefits the
employees of different organizations by providing them with good salary packages, good wages
and incentives which leads to boosting the morale of the employees.

Planning in tourism development encourages the growth of the country economically and if the
planning is done efficiently, the shareholders and investors of the organizations get high returns
on investments and this leads to long term growth and profitability of different organizations in
the tourism industry which results in increase of tax and interest payments for the government
of Qatar. While planning for the tourism development of Qatar, the coordination between the external
stakeholders which includes public and private sector enhances and this results in a positive partnership
relation between them, therefore it leads to increase in quality of tourism development in Qatar.
