Task 1 (Presentation)
Introduction
This section of the study will focus on the benefits of stakeholders for the “sustainable tourism
development plan” in Qatar. The engagement of “public-private partnership” in the travel
industry is increasing for beneficial purposes. However, it has also disadvantages on the
“sustainable tourism planning”, which will be discussed in this part.
1.1 Discuss how stakeholders can benefit from planning of tourism developments with
reference to Qatar.
The “tourism development plan” mainly depends on the stakeholders of the company (Singh,
2017). The stakeholder of Qatar engages developers, tourist management, shareholders, private
sectors, investors and many others. The engagement of the stakeholders can be beneficial for
both the company and for themselves as well. The tourism planning can increase the
environmental and economic return for the stakeholders as per the tourism requirements in the
case of FIFA world cup in the year 2022 at Qatar.

The “sustainable tourism planning” has great impact on quality of life and as a result, the
tourist of Qatar will be beneficial for this plan. Moreover, the visitors can get valuable
experiences form this plan. The life of the community or the local people will also be
improved. It will affect the society of Qatar, because one of the important purposes of
plan is to take care of the environmental resources (Giaoutzi, 2017).
Additionally, the planning of “sustainable tourism” will be beneficial for the workers of
different tourism or hospitality organisation. It can help them in finding right job
according to their skills and abilities. The infrastructure of the nation will be improved as
well. Moreover, the tourism planning will reduce the unemployment rate. This tourism
planning will focus on the incentives and wages of the entire workforce. As a result, the
employees can get appropriate salary, which can help them in fulfilling their needs.
Moreover, the infrastructure of the nation will be improved by this plan.
Moreover, the profits of the shareholder will be increased for their investment in the
“sustainable tourism plan” in the area of Qatar, because the country has a good relation
with the foreign countries. As a result, the investment and the rate of their customers will
be great. It also increases the economy of the country. However, the other tourism
organisation can be profited, because it increases the interest payment and tax of the
products and services, provided by the company.
The “sustainable tourism plan” can help the local communities to ignore the resettlement
or displacement because of the new source of employment or for any personal interest in
tourism industry. Sustainable tourism advocates the best combination of profitable and
exciting tourism (Li and Hunter, 2015).
The government is also benefited for the “sustainable tourism”. The tourism sectors can
have both indirect and direct contribution in the government revenues. The direct
contribution includes income taxes of the new employment and business. The indirect
contribution includes taxes on services and goods, which are supplied to their guest.
1.2 Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of public/private sector tourism planning
partnerships drawing examples Qatar.
The “Public-Private Partnership” (PPP) is the new path for the tourism organisation. The main
premise of the PPP is to help the parties, who are involved in this plan by aligning their goals and

resources. The involvements of PPP in the tourism sector is become the main factor, as the
government has realised the immediate and tangible benefits of this agreement. However, there
are some disadvantages of this of this tourism planning, which will be elaborated below:
Figure 2: Advantages and Disadvantages of Public-private partnership
(Source: Rashed et al., 2017
Advantages:
The PPP engagement in the company will ensure them the higher quality of services.
The company can get a comprehensive team for the PPP engagement and as a result, they
can solve their project issues easily. Moreover, the collaboration between the PPP and the
company can helpful in providing better solution for the infrastructure.
The other advantage of the tourism company for the PPP engagement is that it can be
helpful in delivering a same project with better quality in less money. Moreover, the risk
of the company will be increased, because the parties of the PPP will share their risks. It
means that, the PPP will allocate the risks in order to reduce the management
expenditure.

Disadvantages:
The tourism company can be affected negatively by the PPP engagement because of the
geographical condition, environmental policies, financing and political motive. For
example, the company the political motive of the company can be different from the
public-private sectors. As a result, their plan of “sustainable tourism” can be degraded.
The services or the infrastructure, provided by the company, will be more expensive
because of the high tax rate.
The PPP service procedure can be lengthy than the traditional public procedures. As a
result, the company will not be able to retain their customers and to manage their
“sustainable tourism planning”.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that the tourism industries cannot manage their “sustainable development
plan” without the stakeholders. The partnership of the public and private sector with the
company has both positive and negative effects.

Insurance Co of America, 2015). As a result, the company can cover gap between the desirable
state and the current state. The interactive planning process has many effects on the organisation,
which will be elaborated below:

Satellite accounts method
There are various methods to assess the economical impacts of tourism in Qatar. Satellite
accounts are a very efficient way to measure it. There are many organisations, which are
capable of embedding economic data and combining it with tourism data. This helps in

accommodation, food services and entertainment. Qatar can choose to have partnership
with organisations like WTO to help them regarding this method. Satellite accounting
method will help the tourism industry of Qatar to understand the contribution of tourism
to GDP and its ranking amongst other sectors. They can easily gather the amount of rise
in employment due to this, and other social effects for the rise in tourism (Giannopoulos
and Boutsinas, 2016). Visitor survey method

the economical impact on this country. There must be some socio-cultural impacts of
tourism in Qatar and globalisation is one of it. People of Qatar are now following global
trends from across the world, which came as a direct influence from various kinds of

Task 3 (Leaflet)
3.1 Justify the introduction of the concept of sustainability in tourism development with
reference Qatar
Sustainability in tourism deals with meeting with the need of tourists and at the same time
generating opportunity of income for local people by generating more jobs. The development of
tourism channelizes cultural knowledge exchange between local people of Qatar and travellers.
This increases the amount of leisure attractions and develops the infrastructure of Qatar. In
return, it can create many job opportunities for local people and help them to lead a better life.
Therefore, the sustainability in tourism department is essential for the overall growth of the
country. Sustainability in this industry proposes an idea about reducing waste and recycling it. It
suggests for protecting cultural heritage of Qatar. This will preserve the wildlife of this country
and allow more tourists to visit in future. Sustainable tourism concept suggests that travelling
should not cause harm to the environment of the nation (Abdallah and Al-Bakry, 2019).
The Bruntland report reflects the amount of depletion and detoriation in natural resources for
the entire world. The report consisted of findings of research by environmental experts and it
tells to unite every country to prevent environmental hazard, by creating a sustainable world. If
the tourism department can protect the overall health of environment in the country, then there
will be more opportunity for going on new ventures regarding tourism. It is very important to
protect the tourism of this country and to make it a major industry in future. If the tour operators
use various methods of saving the nature, then in return it will provide the country with more
economical profit and visitors.
