Introduction
Travel and tourism sector is the largest and fastest growing sector of the economy nowadays, and
it creates a large impact on the development of the country. At present, the industry is facing a
lot of challenges in order to seek various objectives such as sustainable development, human
welfare, protecting the environment, etc. Sustainable tourism can be termed as the fundamental
concept that is concerned about traveling and exploring and also taking care of the people,
culture, and environment (Carr, et al. 2016).
The present assignment focuses on sustainable tourism in Qatar. QTA or Qatar tourism authority
is the apex body of Qatar that is responsible for planning, developing and promoting tourism in
the nation. The primary goal or motive of Qatar tourism authority is to attract the travelers as
well as enhancing the contribution in GDP of the tourism sector. The study is segmented into
various sections. The first section of the study is a presentation that outlines the benefits to the
stakeholders from the tourism development within Qatar and also reflects the advantages and
disadvantages of the partnership between the private and public sector.
The second section is concerned with the importance of interactive planning system and process
and on the other side; the third task of the study is focused on the identification of factors that
affects the sustainable tourism in Qatar either in a positive or negative manner.
The last two tasks of the assignment concentrate on the moral and ethical issue in the concept
and providing various recommendations for the future development of tourism.

the social as well as economic return.
