INTRODUCTION
Sustainable tourism defines a concept which reflects to give a positive impact on
economy, environment and society while visiting a destination as a traveller. Travelling and
tourism both are interrelated terms as without a journey, tourism cannot possible. Therefore,
concept of sustainable tourism is linked with procedure of mobility. So, it is a responsibility of
visitors to make positive influence only. In a country, developing tourism is most essential part
as it gives various opportunities to job seekers for taking employment in this sector as a guide,
accountant, operator and more (Yu, Chancellor and Cole, 2011). So, it not only reduces
unemployment but also improves economical growth of a region. In this context, a project has
been made on sustainable tourism development for an emerging destination as Qatar.
Government of this country takes various approaches in order to develop and promote tourism
with the help of private and public organisations working under tourism sector. In addition to
this, present report also reflects threats and issues which come as barrier in tourism development
in this country as well as recommended solution for the same.

and sustainability of economy, tourism sector emphasizes more on developing plans and
strategies (Torres-Delgado and Saarinen, 2014). These policies are related with giving best
services to visitors of own country as well as of international clients. Along with this, it is major

Therefore, government of this country are needed to take some measures through which it can
increases tourism. While in context with emerging countries like Qatar, it has gained growth
significantly due to its rich heritage culture. Government of this country has launched various
initiatives in order to boost growth of tourism. It includes granting free of charge visas for at
least 96 hours to all visitors of different countries, free entry for people of near about 80
countries by e-visa and visa-free. These changes are helped in attracting minds of tourists more
in positive way.

From this report it has concluded that Travel and tourism industry plays an important role
in enhancing growth of economy of a country in a successful manner. By rapid growth of
tourism help in reducing unemployment and poverty as it gives opportunity for employment in
this field. This would help in improving GDP rate as well as life of people by giving them
employment so that they can earn for their livelihood. For development of tourism, the major
role is played by stakeholders like employers, employees, stakeholders and more who give their
contribution by making a large investment in such sectors. In addition to this, cooperation and
collaboration of public and private sector, also help in improving as well as increasing tourism in
a country.
