INTRODUCTION
Tourism is considered as the one fast growing sector which is giving larger implications
on the overall economy of each and every nation. It is having different aims and objectives like
acquiring sustainable development of business, well-being of human, improving the existent
living style of people, representing as well as protecting natural heritage & civilisation and many
more. But it has been recognised that companies falling under tourism industry are having so
many fundamental issues , that is why they are also becoming failed in attaining the same. The
present report is based on sustainable tourism development. In this context, case associated with
Qatar is going to be discussed. Qatar is considered as most developing country in all over the
world which comprises of most well - organised tour and travel industries. In this report, aspects
of stakeholders has been covered. In addition to this, various benefits and limitations of private
or public aspects tourism designing relationship is also explained properly.

4.1 Methods of resolving a conflict of interests to ensure the future well being of a developing
tourism destination
Conflict of interest states those disputes or conflicts which might be happened cause of
diverse interest of two parties. Along with this, conflicts can also arises due to involvement of
numerous stakeholders. As far as tourism industry also comprises with many stakeholders, i.e.
government of Qatar has an interest in economic growth from tourism industries, whereas
while tour operators are involved in such practises for getting business growth. If Qatar is
engaged of various conflicts this may affect the national income because tourists will not
prefer to go such locations. While the cultural image of a country also get suffered cause of
these disputes. On the other hand, certain major conflicts that can be occurred cause of cultural
diversity traveller and local community. Social group of Qatar is following Muslim religion
while visitors come from foreign countries and belongs to other different religions as well.
Thus, gaps among cultural values and norms creates complex situation.

At present time, it can be analysed that there are number of problems or issues that are
directly related with tourism development. Here are some comparison between Mauritius and
Qatar that will support in understanding better about several issues. Both countries belongs from
different continents so they follow their own culture, religion, languages and many more. Some
problems can be affected on the travel and tourism sector (Lee, 2013). There are various

Unique branding – It has been recommended that government of Qatar should focus on
unique position of this destination through implementing certain changes in order to attract more
tourists. It includes to take certain aspects into considerations such as sky scrapers, shopping
malls, spas, resorts and real estate projects which are much efficient to satisfy tourists along with
encouraging then to come again. However, it is also essential for Qatar to utilise unique selling

that these components of nature should be concentrated by tourism authority in order to
maintain their beauty and cleanliness for developing Mauritius tourism in order attract more

Improve availability of hotels – The natural beauty of Mauritius is responsible for
making it a dream holiday destination for people at global level. It is suggested that government
should develop hotel industry and increase relevant services at reasonable rates to encourage
people for visiting Mauritius from all over the world.

From the above based report, it can be concluded that there are different kinds of issues
rising in Qatar that is restricting it to reach its aim of sustainable tourism development. Some of
the problems are excessive use of natural resources, wastage of fossil fuels, pollution, etc.
Government of Qatar needs to focus on making impressive plan of action so that these problems
could be eliminated effectively and easily in specific period of time. In order to improve the
situation of environment, economy and society so as to attain sustainability, optimum utilisation
of natural as well as non – natural commodities should be done. In addition to this, engagement
of various stakeholders is also necessary for the same.
