The planning procedure for sustainability development in Qatar involves the following stages,
which are enlisted below –
Production of long term and short term goals – In the process of planning the first stage
focuses in the determination of long term and short term goals in Qatar for the sustainable
tourism. Moreover, this stage involves identification of different activities for achieving all
the goals in the given period of time (Baum, 2018).
For instance, enlargement in the number of the visitors in the upcoming years or to increase
the supply side of the sightseeing by development of the infrastructure in the next few years
has to considered by analysing Qatar’s national budget.
Determination of the major stakeholders - The next stage in the planning procedure
involves identification of the major stakeholders, which can manipulate the sustainable
development in Qatar. In order to meet the goals and objectives identification of the
stakeholders is also important. All the business organizations, local communities, national
park authorities, tour operators, visitors and government body has to considered for making
up a plan for the sustainable development of the tourism sector of Qatar (Caballero et al.,
2018.p. 1200). Furthermore, considering the objectives of all the stakeholders is important,
at the time of designing the activities.
For instance, the issuing of the permit or license to all the hotels by the government of the
Qatar has initiated conflicts within the local population. Thus, it is necessary to talk with all
the stakeholders before finalising any plan in terms of sustainable development of the
tourism sector of Qatar.

Consideration of the places that attracts tourists – This stage involves consideration of the
places that have the ability to attract many tourists. Details of the purpose of the visitors to

development involves establishment of various sub plans, which includes environmental
development plan, social development plan, economic development plan and similar others
(Biddulph et al., 2018.p. 600).
Identification of the major issues – This stage involves identification of the major issues
that are linked with the sustainable development of Qatar. Further monitoring and controlling
of the identified issues are the two vital factors in this stage of the planning procedure. The
issue i the sector f working can be stated as one of the crucial factor which can directly alter
the success factor of the organisation. In most of the case the identification of the issue is
very much crucial so that there are no problem seen in the internal working of the
organisation.
Undertaking of appropriate actions - The fifth and the last stage is the most important
stage as it involves undertaking of appropriate actions for mitigating the issues related to the
sustainable development of Qatar (Palomeque, 2018).
These above given stages of sustainability planning process of Qatar is going to help in
achieving the objectives and goals in an efficient way.
