years post qualification in the full range of either management or financial activities.

Answer to requirement 7:
From the evaluation of the requirements of the qualification and experience of the
corporate accountants, it is inferred that the responsibilities, task and key roles of the
corporate accountants in the job advertisement complies with the tasks, key roles and
responsibilities that has been learned in the MPA unit HI 5020 Corporate accounting.
The focus of the subjects studied in MPA unit is the practical techniques and theoretical
framework of accounting. The practical techniques relates to the preparation of
statement of changes in equity, statement of financial position, statement of cash flow,
accounting for liabilities, accounting for assets, accounting for all the intragroup
transactions of company, share capital and reserves, accounting for groups and
accounting for non-controlling structures (holmes.edu.au 2019). Studying of the
preparation of all the financial statements helps in applying for the position of the
financial accountants and thereby much of the position is relatable to the core
accounting skills such as preparation of statutory account, preparation of financial
statements.
Some of other paper that has been studied under this subject is the profit
distribution, company formation, liquidation and consolidation of the consolidated
accounts and capital reconstruction of the group of entities as required under the stock
exchange regulations and accounting standard. The practical methods and procedures
learned from the unit has helped in meeting the requirements of the employer as the
individual is well versed with all the knowledge essential for the position. One thing that
needs to be notes in the context of the subjects learned in the unit is that there was no

lessons on the accounting software such as MYOB and SAP (Agrawal and Cooper
2017). This made it difficult for the individual to fulfill the criteria unless he or she is
having experience in using and applying that particular software for dealing with
different counting situations and solving accounting problems.
Answer to requirement 8:
The learning outcome of the corporate accounting unit made the learner capable
of demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the accounting standards and solving and
solving the practical problems faced in the inter entity relationship with the help of
application of knowledge. The learning outcome made the individual capable of
selecting appropriate accounting technique for performing different types of accounting
treatments. Some of the additional topics that was missing from the unit is that
individual were not taught to deal with the practical or the real issues faced by the
company. They were not provided with the tools for solving any issues that involved
team role and how the situations can be handled. In addition to this, the advertisements
posted about the personal attributes which a capable applicant should possessed and
beside this, the individuals were also not taught about the emerging financial
technologies that is used by the modern organization to deal with different accounting
situations (Robson and Bottausci 2018). However, the accountant can gain some of the
personal attributes sought by the employer only if they have the experience of working
as accountant in any organization.
Answer to requirement 9:
The role of financial professionals and accountants are expanding and with the
fast changing environment, it is required by them to have up to date technical expertise
and professional knowledge. The job skills of the accounting professionals should have
ability more than to crunch the numbers and they should have a handful of other soft
and hard skills aside from the traditional knowledge of accounting. For the individuals to
advance their career in accounting, they should have latest technological expertise,
general knowledge of business, leadership skills, communication skills, specialized
experience and customer service orientation and possess extensive knowledge for
dealing with the practical solutions. The topics of preparing the financial statement of
the companies has helped in dealing with the situation of financial problems faced by
the organization and how the specific method can be implemented in accordance with
the accounting standards. Moreover, the knowledge about the preparation of the
consolidated account and the topic on profit distribution has helped in resolving and
investigating the issue by the development of the problem and strong analytical skills.
The comprehensive knowledge of practice and accounting standards learned in the unit
has assisted in delivering the departmental goals relating to the finance and accounting
activities (Mire 2016).
