The study employed a qualitative phenomenological design, using hermeneutic phenomenology to explore the leaders' experiences. The theoretical basis emphasized the indispensable nature of leadership across various sectors. The annotation provides an analysis of the research methods, sample size, and data sources, while also suggesting improvements such as incorporating more secondary data. The report concludes by highlighting the value of annotation in providing concise overviews of lengthy articles and its usefulness in future research by offering access to current and relevant data.

INTRODUCTION
The annotation is defined as the summarising of the whole article in very brief so that the
reader can have an overview of the whole article by not reading the whole article. Thus, for this
the current article is being annotated.
MAIN BODY
The current report is an annotation of the article Emergency services leadership: the
Lived experience. This is an article being written by R. Jeffrey Maxfield and Eric J. Russell. The
article was related to the leadership in the emergency services (Estrada and Koolen, 2018). From
the whole article it was found that the article mainly discussed and resulted in the fact that the
common lived experience of the research participant were like self- awareness of legitimacy,
self- regulation through ethical or value based leadership and the fact that leader affect through
the emotional intelligence. The author in the study tried to find the fact that how the leader
behaves in the emergency services being provided within the country. The major methods being
used by the author was the hermeneutic phenomenology which is a qualitative research method
being used in order to explore the live experience of the emergency services leaders. The
theoretical basis of the study was that leadership is indispensible and is applied in every section
or sector of the business environment.
In the part of critical evaluation and analysis the researcher was able to collect enough
information and facts and figures and it was helpful for the theoretical framework to be studied.
The researcher clearly communicated the information in clear and concise and understandable
manner. This was done after the analysis of the appropriate research method was applied to the
study. Also, the sample size was sufficient as the researcher was able to manage the study in
proper manner with sample of 4 emergency service provider. But in place of this research, the
researcher could have given more preference to the secondary sources of data. This is because
this will provide a much wider view of the research topic.
In the end it is said that the current sources of information like the different articles,
books, journals and other published sources of data provided a detailed overview of the research
topic (Melgar Estrada and Koolen, 2018). Thus, this helped the researcher in getting more
advance and latest data as all the latest articles and journal were used for the research. Also,
these sources are helpful in the near future as this is the latest data and it can be used for

sometime in future as well. Also, this article was able to fill the gap of literature as this provided
a wider range of the data and which as latest and up to the date (Karcher and Weber, 2019). This
is majorly because the latest data and sources were used to undertake the research and these data
are universal that is it can be accessed by any of the person from any of the place. Thus, there is
no right or restriction over the use of these data and facts and figures and information in any
sense and for any of the research in future as well.
CONCLUSION
In the end it is summarised that annotation is very helpful in shortening the long articles
and journals. Thus, this provides a brief overview to the reader that what is there in the article.
