INTRODUCTION
Organization management is considered as planning and controlling tool that help
companies in making changes in operational activities in order to raise profit. In the competitive
market, entities have to adopt effective strategies that can help them in sustaining in market for
longer duration. Present study discusses features of qualitative research. Furthermore, it will

business and operation management.
TASK
1. Features of Qualitative Research
Qualitative Research is the type of method in which researcher takes support of theories
and models in order to conduct study in systematic manner (Bøe, Hognestad and Waniganayake,
2017). It does not involve numeric measurement tools in order to find out answers of research
questions. Qualitative Research is an analytical methodology of conducting study that gathers
comprehensive information about topic.
Research Design
It is one of the essential research methods that define entire investigation. It is considered
as Blue Print of the study that allows researcher in carrying out investigation in systematic
manner (Chatrakul Na Ayudhya, Smithson and Lewis, 2014). There are various kinds of designs
such as experimental, exploratory, descriptive etc.
In qualitative research, scholar has to take support of descriptive research design. It helps
in identifying real situations. In qualitative research, scholar avoids rigid designs that create
complexity and eliminate responding opportunities. This method tries to gather in-depth
understanding about the subject matter so that researcher can explore ideas. Qualitative studies
involve human participants because they have knowledge about real life and can describe about
actual conditions of workplace. Thus, involvement of participants assists in developing
understanding about the topic (Lee, 2014).
Data Collection
Data collection is the most important part of research projects. It allows investigator in
developing an in-depth knowledge and conduct study in systematic manner (What Is Data
Analysis?, 2017). There are two main methods of data collection: primary and secondary.
1
Document Page
Primary data collection sources are tools in which scholar must gather real information
about topic (Nogueira and et.al, 2013). On the other hand, secondary data collection sources are
such tools in which scholar applies already available information in order to develop
understanding about topic.
As present study is qualitative in nature thus researcher has applied primary data
collection sources. Interview is considered as effective method that helps in capturing in-depth
knowledge about topic (Sessler and Imrey, 2015). By this way, real perspective of people can be
involved in investigation that allows researcher in answering research questions significantly. In
qualitative study, scholar makes direct contact with people who have great knowledge about
situation and can give accurate answers to problems.
Empathic neutrality is another feature of qualitative study. In this, a scholar takes care of
openness, sensitivity, awareness and responsiveness so that these questions can be answered
effectively. In this type of studies, scholar assumes that changes are ongoing thus, involvement
of human participants can support in identifying dynamic situations (Bøe, Hognestad and
Waniganayake, 2017).
Data Analysis
After collecting information about topic, researcher must analyse these details in order to
find out results. Qualitative Data Analysis assumes that each study is different from others.
Thus, use of correct analysis tool is very important so that case can be examined properly.
Qualitative method uses thematic analysis tool in which themes are prepared and data are
presented through graphs (Chatrakul Na Ayudhya, Smithson and Lewis, 2014). This helps in
finding accurate answers asked in research questions. This method assists in discovering patterns
and developing interrelationship. Qualitative Analysis Tool reflects own perspective and convey
authenticity in order to enhance credibility of research.
Qualitative research does not include any statistical operations or mathematical
calculations for finding answers. It conducts investigation in simple manner so that researcher
can answer research questions easily (Sessler and Imrey, 2015).
